Introducing Ash Allen (@ashallendesign , @overt.au ) — furniture designer and brilliant mind behind 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲, being presented at the Convent for Melbourne Design Week 2026.
Lines of Force sits between sculpture and furniture, where steel weldmesh is used to reinterpret three iconic Australian-designed chairs by leading female designers Simone LeAmon, Helen Kontouris and Laura McClusker.
The project emerged as a comment on the widespread replica furniture trade in Australia, and has progressed into a beautiful homage to the very designers that have helped and inspired Allen's own creative practise.
