Nothing to see here. By the way, you guys were right. My spotlight circuit was heating up because the wires were under gaged. Switched to 10 gauge and now I’ve got no issue. 👊🏼
Well, now I’m hoping I can get some help on this. Got a relay box electrical issue - wires heating up - so this one’s for you automotive Sparky’s out there.
Just witnessed the most absurd traffic jam near some Outlets and I hope your BF looks more like this and less like gridlock.

Well, hello, 80. It's so nice to have you back where you belong.
We have three short/local trips under our belt since our last round at the shop and the 80 is purring like a kitten. The patience Frank @topshopauto has shown is tremendous. Troubleshooting the engine stall issue was gnarly, but here we are.
This rig is 27 years old now which is wild to think about because I've had 'er since 2010. We've had opportunties to build an entirely new platform on a new truck and heck, that's still a possibility...
BUT.
I think we might take our 'Run what ya brung' ethos too serious. Anyone else have an irrational commitment to their rig? Yes? No? Just us...? 😂

It is hard to speak to the joy this set up gave me. This is perfect. The cooler. The bins from Target. The incredibly low to the ground pop up chair. The inflatable sleeping pad that probably had a hole in it. This is solitude at its finest, made even better by the sound of a campfire and the scuffle of dirt while puttering around the truck.
This is where the clearest thinking occurs. Where deep sighs go unquestioned because the body is just using breath to shake off the daily grind.
This is my overland adventure. It's not complicated. It's not caught up in what the social media overland police says. (It's like if someone stood at the end of a regional park trail with hands on hips to tell people they aren't hiking, they're WALKING. 🤷♂️)
I created Overland Bound back in 2010 to subvert the overland gatekeeping that was rampant and remove barriers to entry. OB came to be because I stongly believe that people need to get out, be reminded of their resiliency, and breathe deep so they can come back a better person for their family, kids, loved ones, friends, work. All of it.
We're going back to basics over here, back to our roots a bit. Sharing memories, sharing member stories, sharing cool rigs that innovate on a budget.
Will there be mega builds that boggle the mind? YES. Because fun. They are not necessary for overlanding, but c'mon, they're fun. I'm happy for the folks who get to overland in them.
And we certainly will be cheering on your overland adventure, no matter what it looks like.
