The final dig! A big thank you. You raided the racks until 3am proving this communityâs heartbeat is unstoppable. It's felt like @recordstoreday everyday since we announced our closure 6 weeks ago. Your messages of how much youâll miss us mean everything and we will never forget it's been an honor serving you.
The last time is now! Youâve kept our needles dropping for years, but this New Yearâs Eve is our final spin. From 6pm to 1am, weâre clearing the crates and the barrels with one last massive blowout. This past weekend was heavy, but seeing the shop packed for our first closing sale reminded us exactly why we did this. A huge thank you to everyone who dug through the crates and took home some wax. Youâre keeping the music alive.

Watching two talented and hungry local teens step up over the past couple of years to a professional rig for the first time ( parents beaming in the corner) has been our greatest pride. Thereâs no "app" for the soul of a real system and decks in front of the public and they learned the craft right here. @sampleheadbeats@sare.graffiti_ well done.
Weâre closing down, but weâre leaving the culture in safe hands with young lads like these but also the 100s of DJs that now play across the city. . We nurtured the next generation of vinyl lovers. Mission accomplished.
Southamptons Dnb and Jungle scene is better off because of Jon Moaks The mind behind @codenamercrds Records has been dropping serious atmospheric D&B riddims across this city lately.
A few months back, we stocked his vinyl and it vanished instantly. The Critical Path is an absolute masterpiece produced right here in our backyard. As a DJ, producer, label boss and promoter Jon is doing big things for the nightlife with @codenameamen so don't sleep on this if you are into it. Go support local greatness.
Huge thanks to Dudley, aka @whirlwind.d a true lifeline for Overdraft Records and a big supporter of everything I've done here . Hes kept some of the racks stocked with great 12inch over the years so can't thank him enough. A UK hip-hop veteran since the 90s, his tracks have graced BBC 6Music and his pioneers Kane FM show is essential listening.
Itâs our final week, and weâre feeling the love.
The community spirit youâve shown over these last four weeks has been incredible. Weâll deeply miss the music and the connections made here.
