Pleased to announce my second solo exhibition , “Seeking Exhumation”, is currently on view at the School of Art Student Gallery @schoolofart_um , University of Manitoba, 158H Tache Art Complex. February 22 - March 01, 2023 (8am-5pm).
“Seeking Exhumation” explores the staggering realization of one’s true identity ironically in an unexpected geographical location, and the desire to find more answers. This is an experience uniform to immigrants drifting through the States of their oppressors. As an immigrant, I grapple with the implications of this new information and find myself drawn to exploring themes of identity, memory, and the tangled web of stories that make up our personal and collective histories. Through this documentation, I hope to encourage others to question their own assumptions and to embrace the messy, complicated nature of the human experience. For me, the process of uncovering true history has been both painful and liberating, and I believe that there is immense value in confronting the uncomfortable truths that lie beneath the surface of our lives.

From “Mascots and Parade” solo exhibition still showing at Portage Mutual Gallery @prairiefusion

I’m happy to announce my solo show “Mascots and Parade” presented by @prairiefusion , is currently on view (October 11th - November 16th) 2022, at Portage Mutual Gallery in Portage La Prairie,MB.
“Mascots and Parade” exposes the notion of self neglect through metaphorical illustrations of domestic dialogues. It encompasses the idea that individuals are being distracted by the role cosplaying as they navigate through societal exchanges. The exhausting simulation imposed upon society at large has forced many to subconsciously take on a different identity quite unnatural to their true selves, while being a symbol of those false identities. The contemporary societal dialogue appears to be a stampede of subconscious performance epidemic to the working class, causing a decline in emotional and intellectual well being. The exhibition consists of mostly figurative paintings and drawings, representing metaphorical interpretations through the artist’s optic.
If you happen to be passing through or live there, please drop by and check it out. Thank you.
