Last year I made a very short 8 frame cycle of a fox running, I hand painted each frame then cut them out and stuck them on to my watercolour paintings. This year I decided to take on a bit more of a challenge with creating a galloping cycle of a horse. I painted 12 frames total so that they would loop smoothly and I used procreate to put it all together.
I could have use Procreate Dreams, but that looked really complicated and because of how short this animation is I wasn’t worried about running out of layers I went with my usual drawing app. I also briefly thought about painting a background to go with it but I ended up using a film photograph I took of my local field. The black and white photo worked well with this as the painting is almost white so I didn’t have to worry about colours which was good especially as I was already trying to get each painting to look the same.
I’ve got a few other ideas for some larger projects in the future so I’m just slowly working on them in the background:)

April was amazing, it was definitely filled with a little bit of stress and worrying about postage a lot but overall all this has been my favourite month of 2026 (Although I’m sure I said that about March). It’s strange to say that I’m actually starting to feel a little bit closer to becoming a professional artist eventually!

It’s been a New Year’s resolution of mine to display my work in a cafe and this is just the coolest thing that’s happened to me this year.
The past four days have been a bit of a scramble to get everything together but I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to display and sell my work in such a cool place!!

I painted this place almost a year ago, I decided to paint it again from a different perspective and I love how this one turned out. My paintings are definitely becoming more green and vibrant, I’m thinking I could do a mini series of paintings of my favourite places in Bath? But then again I have to many places in I adore in that city I would pretty much be painting everything brick by brick.

So I started Lino printing last year and it has been amazing! I’ve tried so many different mediums and I’ve only really stuck to them for at most a couple of weeks then I go straight back into oil painting. I can’t wait to try so much more with Lino printing in the future:)

I love spring so much, especially after a really bleak winter. It makes me appreciate the colour coming back into the garden which happens to be one of my favourite subjects to paint. Just finished this one off today:)
