Some stories hit differently. Getting the opportunity to write a tribute to @KenBlock and the final evolution of his #Gymkhana machines is one of them.
I first met Ken in the 1990s, long before the rally stages, back when this whole journey was just getting started while running @dcshoes . Watching what he built over the years reshaped car culture. This piece was pulled together only a few months before his untimely passing, which makes it all the more meaningful.

A Tesla motor in a 60-year-old Land Rover. It was a terrible idea… and a brilliant one. A Series III on leaf springs, now pushing ~250–300hp with a Fellten battery pack and CCS fast charging. Completely unnecessary. Completely addictive. Best part? It still feels like a Series III Still rattly. Still raw. Just… way faster than it has any right to be. At one point: “I won’t say it’s too much power for a Series… but it is too much power for a Series.” This isn’t about speed. It’s about making classics usable again… without killing what makes them special. So… where do you land?
