In honor of Dave Gahan @theimposter of @depechemode ’s birthday, here’s a clip from the video I directed for the haunting lead single from his album Hourglass - ‘Saw Something’. Interesting fact, not only was it shot almost entirely on location in the legendary @hotelchelsea (before they tarted it up), but also in the very room Sid and Nancy lived
and died in (Nancy). Shot on the super high-speed Phantom camera by @shawnkimdp . Colored by @tomopoole . Apologies to the rest of the crew for no credits, it’s been a long time!

We Are Hunters - Imaad Wasif @imaadwasif There was something in the air the night we filmed, a kind of madness best to stay home and avoid. The streets were empty, only the crazies left, Imaad one of them. The spirit took him to a place of conviction and it shows. The fear, exhaustion, all real. Direction & Camera: Me Editor: Georgia Parker @workeditorial Color: Jose Ortega @societypost.house Driver: ‘Money’ Mark Nishita @paperdollsforpeace Rope Man: Tristan Bechet @tristan_bechet Shot on iPhone 15 Pro in Los Angeles, 2025 Link to full video in bio

‘PLAY ME’ by @kimletgordon What a dream to make a video for this stone-cold HERO. A dream made all the more surreal by shooting in a shopping mall. Full video in bio

Rest In Peace BĂ©la Tarr, Hungarian master of ‘slow’ cinema. His films feel like you’ve stayed too long in a post-Soviet dive and the local drunk who’s also the local philosopher, strongarms you into conversation, leading you on an mud-caked odyssey through collapsing industrial towns, dominated by faces of men etched by the hardest of lives, across fields where the sun never shines and deeper to a place of cosmic mystery, where at the end you find yourself exhausted but enlightened. If you grow restless with Hollywood and its awards shows, pour out a vodka and watch Werckmeister Harmonies and if it speaks to you, brave yourself for all 7.5 hrs of SĂĄtĂĄntangĂł, it will be journey you’ll never forget. Thank you BĂ©la Tarr.

How lucky am I? My first commissioned music video was for garage legends, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. The label didn’t have much $$$ but needed a video for new single, ‘She Said’ from Plastic Fang (2002). When you have Jon Spencer, Judah Bauer and Russell Simins, you don’t need much, just a Bolex and a few rolls of expired 16mm. Filmed live at London’s legendary 100 Club.

Ennio Morricone (b. 11/10/1928) was no doubt the greatest composer of the last 100 years. His work resonates across modern music like no other. He was a classicist, a maker of pop and an adventurer of avant garde. He crossed every genre, working with B-movie kings to the greatest European auteurs. His crowning work will always be his partnership with meistro Sergio Leone - together they took cinema to its highest, most operatic form. I saw Morricone perform twice, the final time being shortly before he died. It was at the miraculous Terme Di Caracalla in Rome (slide 2). One of the most beautiful and memorable concerts of my life.
