"A young fisherman’s first love with a stranded whaler unfolds in secrecy under the pressures of family, faith, and community in this haunting and subversive Queer vampire film with chilling folk horror flavours. Singular in scope and depth, Kasper Kalle’s NO REST FOR THE WICKED is a vivid new landmark in Danish genre cinema that brings imaginatively radical and nightmarish new elements to screen vampire lore. Adapted from Karl Heinrich Ulrichs’s iconic 1884 novella “Manor” and set against the harsh, unforgiving landscape of the 19th-century Faroe Islands, the film’s stark, yet dreamy and uncanny atmospherics, recall the work of Carl Theodor Dreyer or even Robert Eggers while its full-blooded heart is as much an ode to the painful longings of Gothic romance as it is to the genre’s cruelties and horrors. Centred on a remarkable lead performance by screen newcomer @jegorvenned , co-starring @pilouasbaek alongside a strong supporting cast that includes Sofía Nolsøe and @johanneshaukur

Proud to announce that BIRITA by Búi Dam is nominated in the NORDIC:DOX category at this years @cphdox .
In this moving and deeply personal feature documentary, a family of theatre-makers on the tiny archipelago of The Faroe Islands attempts to stage Shakespeare’s King Lear, casting the mother - celebrated theatre actress Birita Mohr - who is living with Alzheimer’s in the lead role.
Birita’s son Búi Dam, a theater director, leads the project. A controversial endeavor driven by his belief that, even though his mother can no longer speak, she longs to return to the stage. Directing the play, Búi must grapple with justifying the project’s premise, while his father, a retired theater director, tries to balance caregiving with his own well-being.
As this remarkable drama unfolds, Birita’s inability to give informed consent raises challenging ethical questions. Amid it all, her joyful presence brings a surprising lightness to the process, leaving a profound impact on everyone involved.
The film premieres on March 15th at CPH:DOX.
Vi kan sammen med @motorproductionsdk i dag løfte sløret for Tea Lindeburgs anden spillefilm: Det nordiske drama SÆLKVINDEN, som optages på Færøerne.
Det stort anlagte drama er inspireret af et færøsk folkesagn om sælfolk og er en vild, brutal, smuk og hjerteskærende fortælling om længsel og om, hvor langt man må gå for kærligheden!
Filmen, som både er skrevet og instrueret af Tea Lindeburg, har Alba August i titelrollen og Sverrir Gudnason, Peter Plaugborg, Stine Fischer Christensen, Nanna Skaarup Voss og Ingvar Sigurdsson i andre centrale roller.
SÆLKVINDEN er lige nu i gang med optagelser på Færøerne og på Fyn og får forventet biografpremiere i 2027.

DET SIDSTE PARADIS PÅ JORD er et nydelig drama fra Færøyene 🎬
Kári trives i det enkle livet i en liten landsby på Færøyene. Han og søsteren Silja sørger stille over morens død. Kári søker trøst i arbeidet sitt på fiskefabrikken, Silja har problemer med å finne krefter til å fullføre skolen, og faren deres er stort sett til sjøs med en fiskebåt.
Men fabrikken er truet av nedleggelse, og selv om den gamle verden sakte forandrer seg og vennene hans begynner å lete etter veier vekk fra øya, ønsker Kári å bli værende for både sin egen og Siljas skyld.
Dette er et rørende drama om identitet, savn og lengsel. Dette er den første filmen som noen gang er spilt inn på den avsidesliggende øya Suðuroy på Færøyene, og den fantastiske færøyske naturen danner det nydelige bakteppet for filmen.
