Love Action is coming… to the ROCKPOOL

Time spent at PITCH over the years has provided numerous moments of inspiration and ideation in the creation of Love Action.
From losing the plot during Folamour to making pina coladas in the sun for fleetmac wood. Maceo Plex blowing our heads off to the pure unadulterated awe of production and what humans are capable of putting together just to make others dance. And not to mention Katie Pearson’s set at 2020 that sent us deep into the joy of discovering music.
Love Action got wind of the creation of a Rock Pool and knew this couldn’t go ahead without getting involved. Yes it’s an actual (gigantic) pool in the middle of the festival.
We will be soundtracking your hazy Sunday arvo with funk, disco, nu-jazz, Italo, rock, maybe some folk, maybe some reggae, deep house, synth pop, and everything you would imagine hearing at a Love Action party by a pool… with the Grampians towering in the background.

Outback Rhythmic aka Luca Swinn has been rapidly amassing his record collection over the last few years, digging for gems from Castlemaine to Tokyo.
Lucky for us, he’s been sharing his finds, recently playing at local haunts Milney’s, Rooftop, Rumbler and Bar For Now. With a keen eye for the ’90s, you will hear some chuggy percussive breaks, jazzy hip hop, guitar soaked Italo gems and cheeky disco edits.
We first came into contact with Luca’s sound over new years at Wax Out West, where his addictive selections had us srsly shakin. In an effort to bottle that same energy and share it with the neighbourhood, we have Outback Rhythmic curating the afternoon dancefloor. Be prepared to bounce/jump/jiggle/twerk.

Luca has that innate skill to pull out records you’ve never heard before, but can’t get enough of. Match fit for any occasion, he deftly moves between tribal tech house, dirty disco edits and 90s house gems with ease.
We first met him behind the taps and turntables of @barfornow and after seeing a ripper set at @loveactionevents final send off to the gaso, we knew he’d be perfect to kick things off with a bang at Milney’s.

Earlier this month at a house party, on arguably the dodgiest turntable setup you’ve ever seen, OUTBACK RHYTHMIC AKA Luca Swinn threw down rekkid after rekkid of 90s jazzy hip hop, percussive house, and rare guitar soaked italo bangers with squealing guitars. After the second European disco banger I simply couldn’t handle it anymore - walking over to Luca I demanded to know where he got the track, for him to unveil that he simply discovered it in a $5 bin at a bizzaro shop in castlemaine. Immediately I remarked “shut up and take my money…on Friday the 28th of March, I would like to pre order a zinger bacon and cheese box packed the brim with every single condiment you have just played from your collection.
Outback Rythmic is a dirty kinky lover of deep house, acid breaks, groovy rollers and that early 2000s tribal house that no one comes close to emulating today. Translated from Love Action rot write up language he’s an unassuming & reliable disc jockey that can throw down a perfect set for any time or place.
In a short time he’s literally travelled around the globe and dug in every $5 bargain bin from Castlemaine to Goa, India. A resident at Love Action’s New Years Festival “Wax Out West”, Luca has brought in the first sunset every year, with his sound evolving rapidly from one set to the next.
