ℹ️ A great project by Edward and Spyros on Syros island is one of the best surprises of this Oenorama.
I wasn't aware at all of the presence of producers on Syros and now I can add my temporary flag on my map.
P.S. I say temporary because, after listening to them and after tasting the wines, the curiosity of seeing the vineyards with my own eyes is growing.
This is the best way to undestand people's commitment to their project and their land.
P.S.2 working on francs de pied (pre-phylloxera) vineyards, they focus on three varieties:
- Fokianò
- Serifiotiko
- Monemvasià
P.S.3 reviews will follow, I only give you a couple of anticipation: their rosé is conceived for gastronomy and they believe in amphoras.

One year since we drove the tractor onto our newly acquired steep terraces, which had not been cultivated for many many years. Gentle ploughing, cover-crops and compost helped to prepare the soil. We rolled the dice and planted and are slowly seeing the results. Planting what belongs. Patience required!

Στις Κυκλάδες, το αμπέλι μεγάλωνε πάντα με τον ρυθμό του ανέμου 🌬️. Οι παλιοί αμπελουργοί το κρατούσαν χαμηλά, σαν θάμνο 🌿, για να προστατεύεται από τους δυνατούς αέρηδες του Αιγαίου, την ξηρασία και τον καυτό ήλιο ☀️.
Το έβαζαν αραιά, όπως ταίριαζε στο χωράφι, κι έτσι το κλήμα έβρισκε τη δική του ισορροπία με τη γη ⛰️.
Να γνωρίζεις όμως : οι σύγχρονες φυτεύσεις γίνονται σε «γραμμική» μορφή.
Τι σημαίνει; Τα κλήματα μπαίνουν σε σειρές ➡️, στηρίζονται σε πασσάλους και σύρματα, κι έτσι μεγαλώνουν πιο όρθια, με καλύτερο αερισμό 🍃, σωστή διαχείριση φύλλων και τσαμπιών 🍇.
Αποτέλεσμα : πιο εύκολη η καλλιέργεια, ο τρύγος και το κλάδεμα ✂️.
Α ναι! Σου υποσχέθηκα και το tip! 😉
❌ Μην αφήνεις ποτέ το κλαδευτήρι✂️ μέσα στο καφάσι με τα σταφύλια. Γιατί; Γιατί αν ταξιδέψει κατά λάθος μέχρι το οινοποιείο και βρεθεί στα μηχανήματα, μπορεί να γίνει μεγάλη ζημιά! 🙈

2025 harvest has been a long one, but all wines are in tank and already showing huge potential. Yields are down, which sadly is widespread across Greece and particular in the Cyclades. Real teamwork this year, friends visiting and family trips abroad bring a lovely balance to the 2025 vintage.

Οι μαθητές της Γ’ Δημοτικού είχαν την ευκαιρία να επισκεφθούν τον αμπελώνα OuSyra στην Παρακοπή, στο πλαίσιο της θεματικής ενότητας «Φροντίζω το περιβάλλον» 🌱👩🌾. Μέσα από αυτή τη μοναδική βιωματική εμπειρία, γνώρισαν από κοντά τα αμπέλια 🍇, έμαθαν για τη διαδικασία παραγωγής του κρασιού 🍷 και μπόρεσαν να απαντήσουν όλες τους τις ερωτήσεις, μιλώντας με τον έμπειρο οινοποιό Edward Maitland-Makgill-Crichton! 🧐💬
Τα παιδιά ήρθαν σε επαφή με τη φύση αλλά και ζωγράφισαν τα δικά τους ανθισμένα αμπέλια! 🌸🍃
