Just doing my part to normalise normal spaces. šŸ˜‰ Welcome to our little home. Hopefully proof that a little creativity and patience can go a long way in making a space cosy. Side note: will this be the year I get over myself and start doing voiceovers?? šŸ—£ļø Every piece of furniture in our space has either been thrifted or gifted. Most of the decor, bedding, toys and our clothes too! We’ve also been lucky to find a lot of it for free. A fair bit of time on Facebook marketplace and a partner + family who are always willing to help collect the finds šŸ«¶šŸ¼ Mismatched sheets, secondhand treasures — making a home isn’t about perfection, it’s about intention. We’ve still got two empty bedrooms, because we don’t have furniture to put in them yet. There’s a tiny sink for washing dishes, the paint is peeling off the walls and cupboards and the carpet is old and worn… I’ve got a wishlist of decor items to ā€˜finish off’ the spaces a bit more... but, that’ll come. All things in good time! And I am beyond grateful to have this space to house our family, a big yard where we’ll grow flowers and vegetables this year (we’re already planning a chicken coop, too!) 🌽 🌼 šŸ“ For now, this little home is full of heart, and that’s what truly matters. šŸ¤šŸ•Šļø #reallifespaces #normalizenormalhomes #wearethehomemakers #thriftedhome

Finally surfacing from our newborn bubble, with a few favourites from our quiet little world lately. We were sent the most generous and darling parcel from @jamiekay for the littlest love. šŸ¤ I’ll share some ā€˜regular’ content again soon, but for now - enjoy this sweet, sleepy babe. 🌼

Our little love joined us in the early hours of Monday morning. Born safely and quickly at home, her brothers watching from the comfort of the couch. The baby girl I have met multiple times in my dreams over the last four and a bit years. Exactly as I’d pictured her. šŸ„¹šŸ¤šŸ•Šļø

Still very much pregnant. A whole lot of horizontal parenting today + a play date with some of our favourite humans. šŸ¤ In the weird in-between, everything is ready for our next little love to join us, it’s now just a waiting game. I am unbelievably uncomfortable this time around šŸ™ƒ. My first pregnancy we were 42 weeks, second 40 weeks - and both times the wait didn’t feel this long. 🫣 Most nights I’m sure ā€œthis is itā€ - and, it’s not. What were your first signs of true labour?

That strange, beautiful in-between where I don’t know if I have hours or days left of feeling these kicks. Any guesses for our third babe - girl or boy? And when do you think they will make their appearance? šŸ¤

Sometimes the internet can feel like noise. But then something like this happens - a small reminder that sharing real life, in all its ordinary moments, can lead to extraordinary blessings. šŸ•Šļø I’ve spent months scrolling Marketplace for a new couch that fit our family and our budget, but with baby number three on the way and one income, it was right at the bottom of our list. When I was checking my message requests and saw the offer from @eeezahome - it honestly felt too good to be true. I feel so lucky to work with brands who see value in the kind of real, everyday content I share. And even luckier that this couch turned out to be everything we’d hoped for: beautiful quality, ridiculously comfy, and washable (a small miracle in a house with kids). šŸ˜… This is the ā€œBrioā€ sofa from @eeezahome and you can use the code KINDRED5 if you’d like a small discount. I’ll also pop a link for it in my bio and stories. šŸ”— Also, thank you for being here — you’re the reason these little blessings find their way to us. ✨ #gifted

A little reminder from real life: Not everybody’s real life looks like Pinterest, ours certainly doesn’t. Sometimes I think we need to see more of the unfinished, unfiltered corners. I appreciate how many of you agreed with me on this in my stories earlier today. This is a current look at our ā€˜nursery’ situation. I use this term lightly, because we’ll co-sleep and this room will mainly be to store baby’s things + for me to sit and rock him/her whilst the boys play outside. (The gorgeous glass doors lead to one of our play areas in the garden.) I really, really wanted to paint this room - a nice neutral beige or a clean white. I wanted some pretty blinds, a cosy rug to cover the threadbare, stained carpet - but realistically, I’d rather that money go towards my partner spending more days at home with us once bub’s born. Also not sure how long we’ll be here anyway and truthfully, I’m still burnt from our last rental cottage that we poured so much effort into. I haven’t gotten around to painting the drawers yet (although I did finally settle on a colour, I think!) so all the little baby things are organised and neatly stacked in boxes, along with my homebirth kit. šŸ•Šļø I might paint the drawers this weekend, if I’m up to it, and unpack this all a bit more + maybe ā€˜shop’ my home for a few more decorative bits and bobs, but otherwise it’ll stay pretty similar to this until bub makes his/her arrival.

Nesting is a little different the third time around, most of what we need is already tucked away from the last two babies. (And I know how little babies actually need at first.) .. but I’ve still added in a few special finds: • @bundl.baby wraps (outlet sale win, cheaper than Marketplace šŸ™ŒšŸ¼) • @naturebabynz basics (these were 40% off!!) I love love love this brand for little babies, each child I’ve added some more to our collection because they wear so well. • A vintage bassinet + organic @organatureaustralia mattress, found separately but made for each other. I had already picked up the @sacredbundle bedside bassinet, so have that too - but I couldn’t pass up on the pretty vintage one on wheels. I figured it won’t be the worst thing having two options for around the house. • A @senger_naturwelt baby bear, which was less than half retail price and too sweet to pass on. (Keeping my eye out for the bigger one!) The rest is a mix of hand-me-downs and little accessories I couldn’t part with from before. šŸ«¶šŸ¼ And then of course… a few wishlist extras. The only thing left to really invest in is a new carrier, because I haven’t found our @ergobaby_aunz Embrace. šŸ˜šŸ’” You guys have me so many suggestions on my last reel, it’s hard to know what to pick. There’s a few goodies on marketplace right now - if you’ve made it this far into reading, I’d love to hear which you’d choose. There’s also a slide of cute nappy bags (which are not a necessity, I know.) My last one was pleather and has fallen apart, so I’ve been using a tote bag with some clear storage bags to divide extra clothes / wipes. I feel like a practical + pretty bag would be nice, but I’ll likely make do with what I have! And then lastly, totally unnecessary items, but too pretty not to dream about. We have two @moonie_eu bears - one for each boy and Mr.2 still loves his. I’ll probably give baby the spare, but a new one would be nice, especially as they’ve updated them a fair bit since my eldest was born!

The nesting hormones are strong this time around. ✨ I’m feeling so excited to meet belly bub, but also totally unsure when we’ll get to - our scans gave mixed results, so it’s pretty much anytime in October. Although with how pregnant I’m feeling right now… maybe we’ll have another September baby? šŸ‘€ I’ve been collecting a few special pieces when I spot them on sale or on Marketplace (thank goodness for Marketplace 🫶). And I still have a fair bit saved from the boys — although I have realised we lost a big box of baby things in one of our last moves (ugh). I can’t find our carrier, I’m still crossing fingers it turns up somewhere silly and wasn’t packed with the other things we’ve misplaced! I’d love to hear from you: influence / de-influence me on your favourite baby or postpartum products, please!! (Or anything that made your postpartum period blissful.) Especially mamas of 2+ kiddos šŸ‘€

Soaking up every little moment before life gets even sweeter (and a little more chaotic) in a few weeks time. šŸ¤ #babymoon Endlessly grateful for @little.archibald for making this our reality for the past few days.

The nesting hormones have well and truly arrived! I’ve been trying to work out what to do with this space, I wanted to make them a cosy little space of their own - a gentle step towards (maybe) moving out of our room before the baby comes. Woke up determined; pulled everything out of the room, gave it a good clean and then fought to get these two beautiful vintage single beds into this tiny space. They love it! Time will tell if it works, but even if it doesn’t - it feels SO much more whimsical and playful as a hangout spot now. A little sunshine-filled hideout… and it’s right next to our bedroom. 🄰 Feat beautiful wooden blankets that were ever so kindly gifted by our friends at @pendleton.au

One of my fondest memories as a little girl was when my granny would pull a mattress out into the yard, we’d sit and play board games in the shade of a big old tree. Here’s a snippet of our unhurried 10am-3pm. Featuring a very early lunch, because we’ve been up since 5am and breakfast was at 6am. šŸ˜‡ *Please excuse the audio and visual quality here - I made the reel, tried to post it and it deleted but I had a bit of it saved, so had to stitch it all together. šŸ™ƒ Also a rare appearance of me in pants, nothing in my wardrobe currently fits. I even pulled out my tub of ā€˜maternity’ wear and it seems I’m bigger already this time around than I was the last two times. 😭
