We chose to invest in our backyard before many of the “cosmetic” projects because we know the vision God has placed on our hearts for this space. It wasn’t even a safe place for kids to play before, but we saw the potential. A place for our family and for other families to gather, to fellowship, for little feet to run, games to be played, and adventures to unfold. A place where memories are made that will outlive us, far beyond anything we could make look beautiful on the outside. Follow along for more intentional home projects and the heart behind it all. We’re building this home with purpose, not just for a pretty picture 🫶🏻 #stewardship #christiancontent #backyard #yardtransformation #hospitality

We knew when we bought this house the kitchen would be one of the first things we tackled. Once we actually got in here and looked at everything it just made sense to do it before moving in Trying to make it as functional as possible since this is really a one time project (minus the range hood… that one’s purely for looks lol). I’d rather do it right the first time than wish we had late!! Also forgot to mention lazy susans pull out shelves drawers everywhere. No wasted space 👏 What’s something functional you have in your kitchen or wish you had 👀 #homerenovation #kitchenremodeling #functionalkitchen #kitchendesign #momsofinstagram

One thing we’ve been learning at the start of redoing this house is how some of the very first things that need to get done are the most tedious, the least fun, and often cost more than we expect, with little to no thing to show for it at first. It feels pretty fitting, knowing this home is one of the ways the Lord is going to teach us about Him, our lives, and what it looks like to live for Him. A lot of times in our relationship with Christ, the things He prunes and sanctifies in us (the little, everyday “refinements” of sorts) aren’t fun, aren’t big wow moments we can share with others, and often cost us more here on earth than we expect. But just like a house becomes a home through many small, unseen things, those refinements are what God uses as the foundation for everything He wants to do in our lives and the way He works in and through us. 🤍 #christiancontent #stewardship #homestyle #hospitality

The new homeowner decision fatigue is REALLY setting in 😅 I want to be intentional and wise about nearly every dollar we’re putting into this place so tell me what you LOVE in your kitchen. Appliances you use daily, features you’d never skip and things that actually bring value to your every day life!? #homeowner #renovation #newhome #firsttimehomeowner #youngmom

May not be our forever home, but we’re treating it like it is 🤍 This place feels like such a gift and truly everything we hoped for in this season. We’re excited to slowly and intentionally make this house into a home, a shelter. A place for our family and others to gather, laugh, rest, and enjoy all the good things God has blessed us with. We’ll share more of the heart behind this on our new page @ourskene . “Skēnē” is a Greek word meaning “temporary dwelling”. Even if this ends up being our forever home here on earth, it isn’t our eternal home, and we want to curate a space where the hearts of our family and others are pointed toward the eternal home we all long for. So thankful and so excited to bring you along 🫶🏻✨
