SAFE Center is deeply honored to be recognized as California Nonprofit of the Year 2026 by Senator Tim Grayson. ✨
This recognition reflects the strength of our community, the power of our partnerships, and our shared commitment to building a place where everyone can connect, learn, and belong. 💙
We’re grateful, and more motivated than ever to keep showing up and doing the work, together.

Yesterday Federal Government shut down SF immigration court -one of the major hubs for immigration for cases and services. Our own Sergio Jaime Lopez leads our Legal Empowerment Initiative and was interviewed by ABC7 News “In San Francisco, there are 120,000 cases pending. In Concord is half — 60,000 — and that’s where we are. What we are hearing from the court in Concord is that they won’t start the hearings until December,” said Sergio Jaime Lopez community defender program manager for the Safe Center.
