We tried the viral chocolate crunch cake and these were the results. Spoiler: it’s just as delicious as it looks 🍫
RECIPE:
Cake: Whisk ¾ cup sugar, ½ cup cocoa powder, ¾ tsp baking powder, ¼ tsp baking soda + ¼ tsp salt. Add ¼ cup hot coffee, whisk to bloom. Add ⅓ cup oil, ⅓ cup sour cream + 1 egg, whisk smooth. Fold in ⅔ cup flour. Pour into a greased 8” pan, bake at 350°F for 25–35 min. Cool completely.
Ganache: Microwave ⅓ cup heavy cream until steaming. Stir in ⅓ cup Nutella + ¼ tsp salt until smooth. Pour over cooled cake.
Crunch topping: Melt 2 oz bittersweet chocolate, stir in ½ cup Nutella + ¼ tsp salt. Fold in 2½ cups crushed cornflakes. Spoon over ganache layer.
Serve immediately while it’s still gooey.
