🏡 Sustainable House Day is happening this weekend, with homes across Bittern, Safety Beach and Rye opening their doors to share ideas for sustainable living 🌿 You can also visit the Eco Living Display Centre at The Briars to chat with experts and check out electric vehicles.

♻️ Soft plastics recycling option now available on the Peninsula!
Mornington Peninsula residents and local businesses now have a new way to recycle soft plastics, with free drop-off bins now available at the Mornington and Rye Resource Recovery Centres as part of a new trial. 🙌
Delivered in partnership with Solo Resource Recovery, the bins provide a simple way to recycle everyday items that can’t go in your kerbside recycling bin.
From bread bags and chip packets to shopping bags, bubble wrap and frozen food bags, these soft plastics can now be kept out of landfill and turned into new resources. 🌏
✔️ What you can drop off (clean, dry and scrunchable):
• Plastic shopping bags
• Pallet wrap (clear and black)
• Produce bags
• Bread bags and wraps
• Biscuit and snack wrappers
• Bubble wrap and air pillows
• Cereal box liners
• Confectionery and chip packets
• Frozen food bags
❌ Not accepted: hard plastics, rigid packaging, dirty cling wrap or compostable plastics.
📍 Drop them off at Mornington or Rye Resource Recovery Centres.
