Highly prolific KAGAMI Smile, living between the industrial USA and futuristic China, debuts on the label after releases on Dream Catalogue, Emerging Technology, and Juynam. ‘Differing Views of Light’ perfectly blends the producer’s introspective ambient side with his love of noise and techno.
Magnificent opener Circular Orb takes its influence from nature: birds chirping chopped there for the melody, giving the listener the feeling of memories and dreams of the forest, not the forest itself. It sets the tone for the whole album and feels like ‘standing outside a party down the hall, hearing bits of conversation and reverb only to be lost in its murkiness and unclarity,’ as the author puts it.
