Best in class: the one-of-a-kind Sobek Sofa, celebrated by @robbreport as one of the year’s defining designs.
Designed by @oud.architecture and presented by @invisiblecollection , the piece is part of an original collection created for Le Salon des Nouveaux Ensembliers, curated by @mobiliernational in 2025 to mark the centenary of French Art Deco.
Handcrafted in France by exceptional artisans, the sofa draws its inspiration from Sobek, the crocodile god of Egyptian mythology. With its sculptural presence and refined materiality, it embodies a shared commitment to heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary design.
Our warmest thanks go to @robbreport , and to all those who helped bring this piece to life.

What started in 1925 as a conversation about les arts décoratifs and a new vision of lifestyle still influences the contemporary language of interior design and our idea of beau.
One hundred years ago, the masters of Art Deco, also known as ensembliers, envisioned the ideal home of a collector and delivered some seminal interiors that still inhabit the collective imaginary.
Today, @manufacturesnationales and @mobiliernational have invited a new crop of talents to pick up the conversation with the exhibition Les Nouveaux Ensembliers, showcasing exceptional projects under the theme “the embassy of the future,” the soft power of French design shown at its most accomplished expression.
Now, one of these remarkable projects, created by @oud.architecture , is on view within “Period Rooms of the Future,” curated by @theinvisiblecollection and @feauboiseries .
This reinforces the longstanding collaboration between @mobiliernational and @theinvisiblecollection , adding to the conversation that started one hundred years ago and will go on. Always dreaming the next era.
