Two communities. One energy. One shared intention. What started as a conversation has grown into something real, something you can feel the moment you step into the room. From both our teams, this is a thank you, to every single person who showed up and made this what it was. 💜

@afriquelikeme team: THANK YOU! Y’all showed up, showed out, and turned up the heat.
When we started
@afriquelikeme we were just a bunch of ‘’artsy’, ‘weird’ African kids who loved electronic music and wanted to build and community for the friques like us who didn’t quite belong. A space where folks could come as they are without judgment and it’s been a journey. On Saturday we really saw that vision come to life. It’s hard to out into words but we don’t take it for granted that y’all spend your time and money to come out and dance with us. We’re building something special and you’re part of it. OTW x Afrique Like Me Is a testament to community joy. Thank you for being part of the journey. Watch this space. Much love the Chief Friques🫶🏼

@otwsound :Toronto!! On behalf of the OTW team, we thank you! I’m writing this with such a full heart because you showed up with the exact energy we all need. You arrived with great intention and enormous smiles. You received the music with open minds and hearts, danced your asses off, made new connections, waved your flags with pride and were truly present, all with zero judgement. We could not have asked for anything more. This is exactly what OTW was created for. And to our friends and partners Afrique Like Me, this collaboration has been an absolute pleasure. Born from a very meaningful conversation we had almost 2 years ago, and growing into first my set at Synchro System Festival and now this OTW x ALM event, this is everything we hoped it would be and more! Big love to you Sonic Griot, Razaq El Toro and Martin Ses for sharing that same intention, for helping us create something beautiful, and for playing an INCREDIBLE set! We’re so excited to run this back! 💜 -
