What a week to be part of the OCSB community. 🕊️✨
During Catholic Education Week, our schools came together as Pilgrims of Hope, building bridges through faith, learning, service, and community. Across the OCSB, students, staff, and families gathered for school open houses, performances, outdoor learning, prayer, acts of generosity, and milestone celebrations.
Our community also gathered at Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica for a special Mass led by Archbishop Marcel Damphousse, followed by the Director of Education Commendation Awards honouring staff whose care, leadership, and dedication continue to shape our schools in meaningful ways.
A special thank you to the OCSB Chamber Choir, whose beautiful live performance at the Mass is featured throughout this video. 🎶
This is Catholic education at the #OCSB: walking together, supporting one another, and inspiring hope in every classroom, school, and community we serve. 🙏❤️

The songs are beginning to take on a whole new life. 🎶✨
After weeks of reflection, creativity and courageous songwriting, the original lyrics created by Grade 6 students in Ms. Kathleen Brennan’s class at Our Lady of Fatima Elementary are now in the hands of students at St. Pius X High School.
As part of the Open Doors, Build Bridges and Nourish New Beginnings project, secondary music students in Mr. Michael Sasso’s class are now composing instrumental accompaniments to bring these student-written songs to life.
Guiding the process once again is JUNO-nominated singer-songwriter @jeremyfishermusic , whose mentorship continues to inspire students to create with honesty, passion and vulnerability. Having a professional musician working directly alongside students has been an exciting and meaningful experience for everyone involved.
This project is a powerful example of building bridges through the arts. Bridges between elementary and secondary students. Bridges between Religious Education, French, English language learning, and music. Bridges between ideas, emotions and creative expression.
A beautiful reminder of how creativity connects us and how meaningful things can grow when we bravely share our gifts. 🎤🎹

This week's #ocsbFridayFeeling celebrates the many ways students learn, and the educators who create space for all of them.
From forest STEAM bands and farm visits to Ozobots, community maps, tennis courts, and a trip to Montréal, our schools made room for every kind of learner this week.
Every educator knows that curiosity does not always sit still, and discovery does not always happen at a desk. Oh, the places learning goes! 🎶⚽🌿✨
