We are proud to congratulate Dapeng Liu on his selection as a finalist in The 2026 Sovereign Asian Art Prize, Asia’s most prestigious contemporary art prize, presented by the Sovereign Art Foundation in Hong Kong. Born in Beijing and based in Sydney, Dapeng Liu creates work that sits at the intersection of his cross-cultural identity, interrogating the past and present of the fusion between East and West through contemporary landscape painting infused with traditional storytelling, deep thinking, and a striking command of colour, composition and form. A three-time Archibald Prize finalist, Dapeng Liu’s works are held in private and public collections in Australia and internationally. Request Dapeng Lui’s catalogue via [email protected]. NOW IS NOW – Otomys presents Now is Now, a solo exhibition by Greg Wood, open until 15 May. Request exhibition catalogue via [email protected]. At the edge of dawn, when the forest breathes out into the crisp beginning of a day, Greg Wood finds his vision. He seeks the softer light, the spaces of rain and mist, the glowing fuzz of pre-dawn light, the quiet hum of winter cloud. Wood is drawn to colour, tone, and textures: air and water are silver-grey; the forest is a deep dense, emerald. Wood finds the ancient, more venerable elements of his subjects: the land is antique; hinting at a more subtle element of Wood’s imagery: time. Everything is immediate, taking place in the moment of creation: here is the now. Wood captures a moment, documenting how he felt to really be there, watching a moment transform. Now is Now, just as much as it was then, as it will be. Wood’s time is fluid, silver, captured, yet still slipping away, as it does for us all. Written by Andrew Harper #Otomys #OtomysArt #GregWood

A collection of new glass sculptures by Madisyn Zabel have arrived in the gallery! Request catalogue via [email protected]. Madisyn Zabel, based on Ngunnawal and Ngambri land (Canberra), works primarily with sculptural glass. By manipulating external surfaces and internal planes of colour, she explores the relationship between two and three dimensions.  Zabel highlights glass’ duality, its transparency and opacity, while emphasising the interplay of colour, light and form. Each piece occupies a liminal space, inviting contemplation of shifting perceptions. The contrast between machined and hand-finished surfaces is enhanced by the changing natural and artificial light on the gallery, prompting reflection on the boundaries between colour, form and perception in the ambiguous medium of glass. Composite VII, Coldworked and Laminated Glass, 19.5 x 21.0 x 6cm; Organic Structure IV, Coldworked and Laminated Glass, 17 x 9 x 4.8cm; Construct XXXVI, Coldworked and Laminated Glass, 5.5 x 6.5 x 5.5cm #Otomys #OtomysArt #MadisynZabel

FORTHCOMING – Otomys presents Now is Now, a solo exhibition by Greg Wood, open from 23 April to 15 May. Ahead of the exhibition, our team visited Greg Wood in his regional Victorian studio, gaining insight into his practice and process. Request catalogue via [email protected]. We invite you to join us for the opening celebration on Thursday 23 April, 5:30 - 7pm. Following a recent residency in Japan, Wood returns with a body of work grounded in presence, where control is loosened and the act of mark-making becomes an exercise in trust. Each painting unfolds intuitively, embracing uncertainty and allowing the work to arrive on its own terms. #Otomys #OtomysArt #GregWood
