Behind every legacy is someone strong enough to carry it forward. This image of Zelma Redding with the children at the Big “O” Ranch perfectly captures that message. She is the matriarch, leader, and heart behind generations of strength and soul. Her impact continues to shape lives around the world. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers whose love becomes a legacy of its own. 💙

Unintentional Friday pop rock band at ORCA in our matching Otis tees. Should we record an album or just jump straight on tour? 🤣🎸 Stop by the Otis Redding Museum at 339 Cotton Ave to grab your own “Otis Redding Black Tee” and join the band.

More than a milestone, this is a reminder of the power of a song to travel across generations and still feel as honest as the day it was written. “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay” has reached over 1 billion streams on Spotify. Thank you to Spotify for honoring this moment and the enduring legacy of Otis Redding with this beautiful plaque.

In honor of Otis Redding III, son of Otis Redding, the O3 Recording Studio stands as a lasting tribute to his life and legacy. The studio features equipment from his personal collection- including his Fender Twin Reverb amp, tour cases, and guitars- now part of the creative life of the Center. We miss him deeply and are so grateful that his spirit continues to inspire the next generation of artists here every day. đź’™

Happy birthday to one of our newest Otis Redding Foundation board members, Timothy Anne Burnside! As a museum curator at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, she brings an incredible depth of expertise and perspective to our mission. We are so fortunate to have her. It was such a pleasure welcoming Timothy to the finished Otis Redding Center for the Arts this past weekend as we celebrated one year at our VIP event.

We were honored to welcome GRAMMY Award-winning producer KIZZO to our VIP celebration marking one year of the Otis Redding Center for the Arts. We’re even more grateful for the perspective and thoughtful words he shared during his time with us. We hope this is just the beginning of his connection with ORCA!
