The decision to dissolve Out of the Cold Community Association ( OTC) was made out of necessity due to the current social services landscape, and careful consideration of staff and volunteer capacity. People have contributed to the mission of OTC for many years, and this contribution will not be forgotten. We believe we have made an incredibly positive impact on every client, volunteer and staff member we have seen over the years. We thank everyone for all they have done over the years and encourage you to stay involved in your community.
We want to acknowledge the recent changes in OTC’s operations. As we navigate this transition, we’re taking a temporary pause from monitoring or engaging with comments on our platforms.
Our intention in doing this is to hold space for open dialogue and reflection within the community. We believe this quiet period will allow for more thoughtful consideration of the changes and what they mean for all of us.
We understand you may have questions or wish to share your thoughts, and we appreciate your understanding as we focus on this important phase. We’ll let you know when we resume active comment moderation.

We are looking for your support with dental hygiene supplies.
If you are able, please consider donating toothbrushes and toothpaste (full size). Our folks are frequently at increased risk of developing issues with their teeth. Having access to a toothbrush and toothpaste are important to dental health but also to our overall general health!

Wondering why we make call outs for electronics for the residents living in our supportive housing?
Mini-fridges support residents in having independence from staff and autonomy by keeping their prefered food and beverages on hand. They provide resident’s the privacy and convenience of keeping any medication that requires refrigeration in their own space.
TVs support residents to decompress in the comfort of their room when they don’t wish to be in the common spaces.
Both of these items are very helpful in communal living environments and support residents in being more independent.
At the moment residents on both sites are requesting these items for theirrooms.
