Ahead of the big day we caught up with the student-led and aptly named team, 'Fairly Average Running Team, also known as FART' 🏃
The team are participating to support friends and whānau who have ever been impacted by cancer.

Two Otago Polytechnic Master of Architecture (Professional) students will represent New Zealand at the 2026 @duluxnz Colour Awards, after their bold visions for Otago Peninsula and North Dunedin were selected as finalists 🙌
Hudson Ross (22) and Ryno Von Wielligh (23) will travel to Australia in May for the prestigious awards ceremony at the Sydney Opera House 🦘🇦🇺
Associate Professor Tobias Danielmeier, Head of the School of Architecture, was delighted with the news saying, "In a highly competitive field, Otago Polytechnic has secured two of the three NZ Student finalist places at these premier awards."

Automotive Engineering student Dawson Porthouse relished the opportunity to rub shoulders with drivers and crews during scrutineering for the recent 50th anniversary @otagorally event 💪
The 18 year old is passionate about motorsport and has dreams of one day pursuing a professional career in the driver's seat 🚘
The Otago Rally has a long partnership with Otago Polytechnic, carrying out official scrutineering at our Heavy Vehicle Workshop.

The offer of “free food” ensured the popularity of two recent pop-up food markets, hosted by second year Bachelor of Culinary Arts students 🙌
The zero waste project challenged students to prepare and serve hundreds of portions of plant-based street food, including deep-fried sushi rolls, open sandwiches, and Mexican tacos 🤤
All the food served was entirely vegan, which senior lecturer Juliane Tautz says was “intentionally not advertised, allowing students to gather authentic feedback on taste, quality, and overall experience”.
