A TOP CHEF STAR BRINGS CALIFORNIA TO THE DESIGN DISTRICT AT OSPI DALLAS @Ospi is now open in the former Meddlesome Moth space, bringing a high-energy, West Coast-inspired pasta spot to the Design District. Expect hand-stretched pastas, a strong cocktail program, and an airy, skylit space with two patios, one perfect for date night and the other for drinks and lounging. ABOUT THE CHEF Chef @JacksonKalb , known from Top Chef, trained at Alinea and Joël Robuchon and spent time in Italy refining his pasta craft. He opened the original Ospi in Venice Beach, helping grow the concept to four California locations, and is now bringing Ospi No. 5 and that same focus on handmade pasta to Dallas. WHAT TO ORDER Start with the Dallas-exclusive focaccia, then go for the spicy rigatoni! The menu leans into hand-stretched pastas, pulled on site by The Pasta Man (@Mateo.Zielonka ), along with crispy romana-tonda pizzas. The cucumber martini is a Dallas exclusive and so worth ordering, and there are plenty of solid gluten-free options across the menu. P.S. We heard the kale salad is @KristenAnnieBell ‘s favorite dish! Celebrating @sbrestaurantweek at @ospi 💃 We worked our way through their restaurant week menu: ✅Started with the Japanese eggplant (phenomenal, absolute must-order), Brussels sprouts, and arancini. ✅For entrées, we tried the pesto pizza, scarpinocc, and the star of the night: spicy vodka sauce rigatoni. I seriously regret not getting two plates of that rigatoni. ✅Finished on the sweetest note with their cannoli for dessert. Tableside tiramisu 🤤 got this tiramisu from @ospi in Costa Mesa, California and the cool thing is that they make it fresh tableside right in front of you. It’s a moist tiramisu, the flavors are great and that cream is very smooth and luscious 😋 Ospi is an Italian restaurant in Orange County with excellent Italian food worth trying.
