Now that this chapter is out, I’m gonna tell you all why Osora and Catalina’s relationship makes me so emotional.
There were different versions of Osora as a character before, but this specific plot line formed in about 2013-2014. Catalina was the second character I created after Osora. For about 5 years, during the first few drafts of Osora, Catalina and Osora were actually the main couple in the story. Osora was in love with Catalina, and Arias had one sided feelings for Osora. On a surface level, I always loved Osora and Catalina together. I loved how they looked together. But over time I realized that a lot of my love for them together stemmed from my desire to make Osora appear more masculine by adhering to heteronormative standards. Deep down, I knew Arias and Osora were meant to be but I was afraid that people would see Osora as more feminine so I didn’t go that route at the time. But as I grew as a person, and I started to understand my views on gender roles more I recognized that adhering to heteronormative standards as an attempt to try to validate Osora’s gender was not the way I wanted to go, and it was not the point I was trying to make with my story.
Fast forward to 2019-2020, when I switched the main couple to being Arias and Osora, I wanted to keep a piece of Osora and Catalina’s relationship in the story. I thought the arranged marriage plotline was a great way to represent their relationship. They look good together, they’re supposed to be together for the sake of the public image, and although they do grow to love each other platonically, it was never real and true love.

HAPPY 100 CHAPTERS ‼️🎉 it has come so fast. Not a day goes by that I am not grateful for the fact that ive been able to turn the thing that I love doing more than anything into my career. Chapter 100 also coincidentally is a very important chapter to me because of the gender stuff!!
