D E C K C L E A N I N G T I M E | AD | Sometimes, I wish I’d chosen slightly lower-maintenance materials for our garden. There’s always something to do out there! But then again, it’s nice having natural materials in the garden, and it becomes more about finding the right products to help make those maintenance jobs easy… like cleaning your deck. I cleaned our clay pavers a few weeks ago but hadn’t got around to the deck until last weekend. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I use a lot of @osmo_uk products, so I thought I’d give their ā€˜Wood Reviver Power Gel’ a go. After all the prep (moving everything out of the way and brushing it off), it was literally a 20–30 min job to apply the reviver gel. It comes with the brush too—you just need to attach a pole and away you go. No bending down or getting on all fours. By the way, this is just another reason why having the flat side up on your deck is best—I think it looks better, but it’s also waaaaay easier to clean. Then leave it to sit for 20 mins and rinse it off and, miraculously, our deck looks incredible. All the green is gone, and the colour variation is pretty non-existent. Now all I need to do is choose an oil colour to treat the bare wood, protect it, nourish it, and help it last longer. I’ve just sampled the Osmo Decking Oil in Teak 007 and Bangkirai 006 —both look great and are very close to the original colour of the wood. Oh, and I’ve left just enough Osmo Deck Reviver to clean off our bench seat on the patio too, so that’s the next job alongside the oiling. What jobs have you been doing in your garden? Don’t go telling me yours is low maintenance!!! #deckreviver #deckcleaning #balauwood #deckingoil #gardenmaintenance

Ad | I wanted to create a DIY garden coffee table using some old crates. After giving them a good clean and a scuff sand, I got started with @osmo_uk Country Shades in Cypress Swamp to add a bit of colour. Once dry, I nailed the crates together to form the base… but at this point, I really thought I’d got it wrong. It just wasn’t how I’d imagined. Thankfully, my husband convinced me to keep going. I added a more solid top using old scaffold boards, finished in @osmo_uk Country Shades in Purity for contrast, and finished it off with turned feet. I honestly can’t believe the difference the top and legs made! Now we’re ready for alfresco dining… just waiting on the sunshine ā˜€ļø

We lost an hour of sleep… and suddenly everyone’s a bit confused 😓 But let’s break it down the Osmo way: -1 Hour sleep + 1 hour sunshine = More time for Osmo! According to BODMAS… this is probably wrong. The sunshine... questionable. According to us… it’s the perfect excuse to get outside. Less sleep, more sunshine, more Osmo šŸ¤ #DaylightSavings #Osmo #GardenSeason #OutdoorProjects

AD - Lets add some decorative pattern to this wooden planter but this time, not with paint! I’ve used @osmo_uk Wood Wax Finish in Cognac. The planter itself is a work of art as it’s carved from one piece of wood, so I was really reluctant to paint it but wanted to add some interest. By using wood oil, the natural wood grain can still show through, further enhancing it. Once finished, I used some clear oil from @osmo_uk to seal it. I was slightly nervous as to whether this project would go to plan but I have to say, I’m really proud of the end result and can’t wait to try it on other things like shelves and picture frames. Let me know what you think. 🄰 Product used: Wood Wax Finish - 3143 | PolyxĀ®-Oil Original - 3062
