Timber floors, beams and furniture - our LED Hardwax Oil loves them all. It nourishes, protects and continues to let the surface breathe.
Timber is one of those materials that is loved for its warmth, durabilty and unstated luxury. But at the same time, many clients will ask for a timber floor or coating that is 'low maintenance' and virtually indestructable. What happened to wanting to looking after nice things? Do we purchase a silk shirt or leather boots asking the question: "is it high maintenance?"
Like all products created by nature, it demands a level of care and understanding. When it comes to our flooring and coating, we have always stuck by hardwax oils for its natural finish, breathability and repairability. We understand that to acheive extreme durability in a coating means 'laying it on thick' with lacquers and chemicals. If this is the case, why not just use tiles instead?
If we want timber's beauty yet unwilling to understands its nature, then what's the point?
This project photographed here is called NewNew. An exhibition stand designed to be taken down and reused again, and again. Our LED Hardwax Oil was applied to the floors and timber beams to protect the surfaces and enable them to be used again and again. Colour needs changing? No problem, just add on top. Damaged? No problem, simply patch repair it.
A high quality coating should enhance the timber and give it life, again and again.
