A little while ago I released my story THE HATCH, and promised that there were some exciting things happening in the background which would be revealed soon.
Well.
Today, I have the distinct privilege of sharing what we had brewing.
I reached out to my friend Tommy Loose who is - amongst other things - an amazing voice over artist. I have known Tommy for the best part of the last ten years, with him coming to perform for me at my ACOUSTHEQUE music showcases back in the days of the Stratford Picturehouse.
Tommy is an incredible musician, and recently, has been branching out into Voice-Over work as well. The second I finished writing this story, I knew it would work incredibly well as an audio piece, and strangely, Tommy contacted me and asked if I had anything which he could read and experiment with a couple of days after this piece was completed.
Timing, as ever with these things, is everything. And who am I to argue with provenance and fate?
Tommy teamed up with his brother Sam Loose at NA Studios, over the Easter break, and they produced a brilliant rendition of the story, couple with the incredibly ambient, dense and atmospheric music of the track HARMONIS by my good friend Oscillator Sink it has become a wonderful piece of audio storyteling which I am profoundly proud of.
This is a real collaboration between some astounding talents, and I am sincerely in all of their debt for the work and faith they had in this piece of short storytelling that they felt they could lend their name against this project.
Me and Tommy have a couple of things on the boil right now, so expect to see more from him soon. For now, please - Ladies and Gentlemen - enjoy…

Patching the envelope generators on the @manifold.research.centre #antilope into the resonating filters can generate ringing, scraping, burbling sounds quite unlike what you get with the triggers. Adding in the dual ring mod mode in the FX with a high feedback accentuates the vibe with chime-y, metallic overtones.
The pawns on the board of the Core are injecting maximum chaos into the already chaotic system.

The #Antilope from @manifold.research.centre is built around resonance and feedback at multiple different levels, both within the sound generation and within the sequencing and modulation. This patch explores the non-linear and chaotic behavior of those feedback paths.

The @manifold.research.centre #Antilope is very at home being wild and experimental, but it can kick out some conventional beats when it feels like it!
Involving the distortion and effects really brings things to life too - here I'm using the chorus algorithm, but with a lot of feedback to keep things wild.
