The Zeitz MOCAA BMW Centre for Art Education celebrates three new additions to The Stories that Ran Away children’s book series — alongside an accompanying exhibition now on view until 7 June 2026.
Featuring original artworks, imaginative creatures and stories rooted in African legends and creation tales, this exhibition invites young readers and curious minds to explore, imagine and connect through art and storytelling.

We recently printed something very special with @ormsprintroom and it’s made us reflect on how this journey all started 🥳
It actually goes back to 2019, when we decided to Airbnb our flat so we wouldn’t have to pay for accommodation 😅
That gave us the chance to explore some really unique stays around the Western Cape… and somewhere along the way we completely fell in love with cabins 🤩
So we started an Instagram page to share a few of these hidden gems we’d found… with no real plan and zero experience! 🫣
We then started reaching out to cabins, offering photos and videos in exchange for stays… and looking back now, we honestly don’t know how we got anywhere with the kind of footage we were taking (and absolutely no clue how to edit 😅). We had no idea what we were doing!
But what started as a few weekend getaways slowly turned into something so much bigger than we ever expected. And seeing it all printed like this made us realise just how much has happened… all the places, the memories and the little in-between moments we’d completely forgotten about ☺️
There’s just something different about holding it in your hands vs seeing it on your camera roll 🙌
So a big thanks to @ormsprintroom for bringing this to life for us 🤍

A major highlight was the debut of the ORMS International Photography Prize, a milestone moment for photography, recognising excellence in contemporary image-making and giving photographers a platform on one of Africa’s biggest art stages.
