At Ormat, protecting local ecosystems begins with thoughtful design.
In alignment with the U.S. National Dark Skies Initiative, we use responsible outdoor lighting to reduce light pollution that may disrupt nocturnal wildlife, including bats and migratory birds. Where lighting is required, we use low‑output, motion‑sensor fixtures that are shielded and precisely directed to illuminate only essential areas.
This simple choice supports clearer night skies and healthier habitats for native species.
