Our new Neotenic collection emerged from a shared vision between Charlotte and Angus Buchanan, founders of @buchanan.studio , and O.BTC director Charlie Bowles.
Sharing a love for making in England and creative curiosity, the Neotenic collection is the result of a collaboration rooted in the common values by Original BTC and Buchanan Studio.
A visit to O.BTC’s glassworks set the initial inspiration for the series. “We were particularly taken by the way the glass transforms when illuminated. That sense of individuality became central to our design approach,” shares Angus.
“The collection is firmly aimed at design and crafts enthusiasts, people who care about how things are made, who designs them, and who makes them,” adds Charlie.

As evening falls, the Blossom Portable light brings warm, inviting illumination to outdoor spaces - from intimate garden tables to terraces, courtyards or a late-night picnic under the stars. Designed to move effortlessly between settings, its cordless form pairs practicality with understated elegance.

Set against @buchanan.studio ’s iconic ‘Ticking Rose’ print, the Neotenic Floor and Table Lights celebrate colour, character and expressive interiors. Created in collaboration with @buchanan.studio , each piece features a hand-blown glass shade with rich swirling tones that become even more vivid when illuminated, casting a warm and atmospheric glow throughout the space.
The Blossom Linear Wall Light has quickly become one of our most beloved designs, its sculptural, elegant bone china shade casting a soft, atmospheric glow.
Handcrafted in our Stoke-on-Trent pottery over several days, each shade begins as liquid bone china slip before being sponged, fettled, glazed and kiln fired by hand. The result is the delicate translucency and polished white finish that defines the collection.
In this bathroom by Mimastudio, our Pillar lights bring a gentle counterpoint to the structured geometry of the space. Set against the strong vertical panelling, their slender form refines rather than repeats, introducing a softer, more delicate expression of line. Each light is meticulously made from individual glass rods, revealing a quiet complexity within its pared-back silhouette.

The S2 Pendant, part of our award-winning Magnus range, is a study in balance and quiet precision. Defined by its mirrored arrangement, S2 creates a sense of symmetry that enhances the distribution of light, offering a generous source of illumination while retaining a clean, modern profile. It is a more distilled expression within the range, where other configurations expand outward with additional shades.
The Pembridge Pendant is defined by its layered form. Each fine bone china disc is handmade in our Stoke-on-Trent factory, then meticulously assembled into overlapping tiers that create depth and quiet complexity. When illuminated, the translucency of the bone china comes into its own - each tile subtly revealing the material’s character while diffusing the light with a measured, considered effect. The result is an atmosphere that feels composed and restful.
Our Fin Pendant has long been a favourite - its fluted bone china shade an instantly recognisable form, quietly iconic in its simplicity. When brought together in a grouping of 7, 12 or 18, the design takes on a new presence, each piece contributing to a larger, more expressive composition. Ideal for spaces with height and volume, it offers an opportunity to create something both architectural and atmospheric.
As outdoor spaces come back into focus, the details that shape them matter all the more. Our Mast Lights bring structure, atmosphere and a quietly architectural edge to terraces, courtyards and front-door settings alike. Handmade in the UK and built to withstand the elements, they are designed to give exterior schemes a sense of permanence as well as polish.
