Introducing Pascal "werdii" Werdehausen:
Quite conventionally, werdii’s passion for music began with Pop and radio tunes. Rather unorthodox, however, is the rest of his musical journey. He started playing in a Band as a Bassist while being obsessed with Rock music, primarily listening to artists such as Billy Talent, Rise Against, Metallica or Die Toten Hosen. Around 2012, werdii found himself filling up his playlists with Hardstyle and Hardcore, as well as EDM in general, and particularly Future House. During his Hardstyle years, his favorite artists were Brennan Heart and Angerfist. In 2018 he began being part of the Techno scene, enjoying music made by Adam Beyer, Enrico Sanguliano, Oliver Koletzki, and many more. Today, werdii professionally works as an LJ in the regionally infamous Techno club Klub PAN in Hannover, Germany. He enjoys Trance, early 2000’s and 90’s-influenced tracks, and a lot of Groove. As you might already have guessed, werdii’s role at Origin812 is LJing and sound- as well as visual-tech on a high level due to his prior education as an event technician. Besides listening to music, he privately dedicates time to programming and developing light shows for Hannover techno event line-ups such as Berries or Atlantis.
Introduction: Mer Mer, or the "jack of all trades" of Origin812, used to listen to German pop-musician and rapper Cro when his taste eventually drifted from German Rap music to American Rap of various styles. After graduating High School and spending more time within his music-driven friend circle, lots of newer influences got him into melodic Techno, Trance, and Groove. After getting an education as a mechanic, he now spends his time studying civil engineering and supporting the collective's vision from behind the scenes. Mer does not shy away from tasks no matter if they are of bureacratic or creative nature. You can look forward to a set from him in the future.
Introducing Sean Vieira:
Being of Portuguese descent, having grown up in Germany, attending high school in LA, and currently living in the Netherlands, a culmination of different understandings and perspectives on art built the primary foundation of where Sean Vieira gets his inspiration from. Influences from the streetwear fashion scene and avant-garde tailoring by the likes of Kanye West, Shayne Oliver, and Demna Gvasalia make up a big part of what aesthetics mean to him. He believes that what aesthetics is to the eye, music is to the ear.
After starting out playing the piano at the age of 5, Sean got into Hip Hop music and eventually switched to Electronic Music through Call of Duty Montages and YouTube promoters like UKF, MistaDubstep, and countless more. After going through phases of Rock, Hip Hop, Dubstep, and Drum and Bass he currently predominantly plays and listens to House. He started producing music at 14 but found himself occupied with American Football until the age of 18 when finally dedicating most of his time to studying and DJing. One of his biggest strengths is the size of his song repertoire, which was built by maintaining his inner nerdy kid who only used an mp3-player until the age of 14. You will most probably never catch him without Headphones.
Sean’s most important goal is to live up to the old-school spirit of DJing by trendsetting. While digitalization makes the practicalities of music production and distribution more convenient, the mass-production nature of the industry makes achieving high quality in track selection and sound design harder.
Introducing Ciddar:
At around 15 years of age, music started to become a significant part of Ciddar’s life. It all began with SwagyTracks and RnBass, which were old school YouTube promoters of West Coast style RnB and Hip Hop, often part of video game culture and Call of Duty montages. The biggest names in the scene were Logic, YONAS, OnCue or Marc Goone, to name a few. Feel good and college party style Hip Hop eventually turned into an appreciation of other styles of mainstream as well as underground rap music. When driving or hitting the gym, Ciddar still appreciates listening to Hip Hop a lot.
When spinning records, Ciddar’s playlists are mostly packed with Tech House or Minimal style House music that has Latin vocals. Labels that made this style popular include Solid Grooves and Solotoko, while artists that inspire him the most are Cloonee, Wade and many more. Furthermore, House music that projects a summer vibe makes up a big part of Ciddar’s repertoire. According to him he strives to mix those styles in order to introduce those different styles to the corresponding audiences. Every once in a while Ciddar likes to switch it up and play Drum and Bass sets, since his EDM journey started out with UKF, Stan SB and early Brostep.
Introducing: Mucho
After primarily listening to US West Coast inspired Rap and R'n'B for years, with an appreciation for promoters such as RnBass on SoundCloud, Mucho found his way into the electronic music realm after attending the Big City Beats and Springinsfeld festivals in 2017. Festivals were the "convincing" factors, as he puts it, that got him infatuated with all sorts of electronic music. At that time his favorite artists were Tchami and Malaa, who reached higher popularity in the years before the pandemic hit due to their new heavy Bass House and Tech House inspired sound and their No Redemption collaboration tour that Mucho and many other Origin812 members attended. The Confession label event at ADE 2018, with Chris Lorenzo and Chris Lake on the lineup, was Mucho's final checkpoint when entirely falling in love with Tech House, too. He used to play keyboard and the guitar as a kid and now predominantly plays and listens to G-House, Tech House, other varieties of the genre, and Drum and Bass.
