Constructed from vegetable-tanned cow leather, this pair is finished using a traditional rub-off treatment where a darker surface layer is applied over a lighter base. Unlike fully dyed leathers, this method leaves the underlying color intact, allowing the top layer to wear away gradually through friction and movement.
As the shoe is worn, areas of repeated contact creases across the vamp, edges along the panels, and pressure points around the toe begin to reveal the warmer copper tone beneath. This process is not uniform. It develops in response to how the wearer walks, how the leather flexes, and how often the pair is used. Over time, the contrast between the darker surface and exposed base creates a depth that cannot be replicated artificially.
