Now Representing, Simon Lekias.
About — Simon Lekias is a distinguished voice in contemporary photography, emerging from Australia’s West Coast with a curious spirit and a profound sensitivity to evocative, diverse creative expression.
After graduating from university, he arrived in New York City in the late ‘90s. During this transformative period, Lekias cultivated his practice of colour and technical processes while working in a Little Italy darkroom, printing for some of fashion’s biggest names, including Juergen Teller and Terry Richardson. While the city slept, Simon immersed himself in
his images—each personal experience unfolding through endless contact sheets and test prints.
With his unique visual perspective and refreshingly honest approach to image-making, Lekias has remained a revered figure and tastemaker in the Australian creative landscape, resonating with celebrity, editorial, and fashion clients, including Cartier, Zimmermann, Louis Vuitton, Camilla and Marc, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Björk, Cate Blanchett, Kim Kardashian, Kirsten Dunst, Miranda Kerr, Abbey Lee, Vogue Australia, Vogue US, Harper’s Bazaar Australia, Vanity Fair Italia, Elle France, The Face, 10 Magazine.
Known for his captivating, life-filled images, Lekias’s work captures important yet fleeting moments with ease and artistic integrity. Recently, he turned this sensibility toward a printed assignment exploring his Australian home and Greek heritage. As he embarks on a new chapter, Lekias continues to draw inspiration from both Europe and Australia, calling each place home as he enriches his craft with a perspective shaped by these two worlds.
