FRIENDS ONLY invites you to: ‘ma’ — the space in between An intimate evening of sound, light, drinks, and deep listening in celebration of AAPI Heritage Month. Exhibition catalog from the Taoyuan International Art Award featuring a project which Jorge Bachmann and I made in collaboration in 2025. The catalog includes images of the group exhibition and interviews with the participants and jurors. One cover is made of glass, the other of wood. Grateful to have been invited. Sharing this and thinking back on this project before returning to Taiwan for an extended residency at Treasure Hill Artist Village. @ruidobello @tmofa_museum

• STRANGE OFFERING residency appreciation post (1 of many to come this week) • this residency started with a desire to give space to images I’ve felt haunted by {or as @weird_little_sister calls them ‘benevolent hauntings’} — actions and images wanting to be realized through the alchemical container called performance • I reached out to improvisers I admire to join me for a week of experimentation at the beloved @winslow_house — a space that held and encouraged our fluid gathering/unraveling • this footage is from our second day in residence together — working with scores that were based on processes of sedimentation, erosion, and weathering • to be able to work intuitively together and allow a collective intelligence to emerge {through play, deep listening, + joy} is the greatest gift I could ever ask for • many thanks (many times over) to the incredible group that joined me • @winslow_house @ain_eliz_tharp @rippingapart.jpg @orcora @l__eshy @weird_little_sister @soapylegs

another one coming up quick! Wilson Shook/Kevin Corcoran/Aine Nakamura Trio Arrington de Dionyso/Sandy Ewen Duo Secret Handshake Thursday March 26 7 pm @subrosa_space $10 notaflof #wilsonshook @orcora @ainenaka An improvising trio since 2023, Wilson Shook, Kevin Corcoran, and Aine Nakamura create a atmosphere of heightened concentration, restraint, and purposeful recontextualization of sounds, affects, and relationships with each other and with a particular moment in the world. There is an oblique lyricism, and a non-programmatic ritual intensity to the work, which evokes Butoh, Deep Listening, Artaud’s Theater of Cruelty, and a sort of animist ecomusicology. @sandyewen An experimental guitarist, artist and architect based in Brooklyn NY, Sandy Ewen’s guitar playing playing is centered around found objects and extended techniques. She performs solo and in many diverse musical and multimedia collaborations. @arringtondedionyso Arrington de Dionyso conjures Utopic Spaces with multiphonic vocal work & minimalist instrumentation. It’s shamanic seance meets rock and roll ecstasy. @l__eshy @88.jm_ Secret Handshake are leshy and james mossa. they explore materials and objects through electroacoustic and spatial interventions.

glorious collision of sound worlds otw this saturday night 🌒 all the way live in the green room with @kidominator and now with @chefleee and @orcora sitting in for an evening of improvised groove alongside @zekarias 🐚 composer, artist, activist, educator — amirtha’s work draws a deep practice of collective improv informed by avant-jazz, indian devotional music, noise & years of organizing. gathering some family in that spirit. on visuals we welcome back @melanie_mmarie (of @heavy.arts.ensemble ) whose hypnotic, often live-coded visions push generative software toward its radical potential 🐦‍🔥 on wax duties dj & producer @lonaldjbandz will map out some coordinates on this genre-spanning journey 🗺️ the jam is the praxis is the massage is the etc. etc. grateful to be in community with all these brilliant folks. tix 🔗 in the bio, see you soon artwork @opticalsoundexperience

3.20.2026 Benefit for The Sanabel Team at Temescal Arts Center @thesanabelteam @tac_oakland Doors 7pm show 730 15 - 20 donation, no one turned away for lack of funds. /// with @derricknallard @orcora @billygomberg @xdebussyx @captainmcsweeney @earthenergy /// Derrick Allard is sound artist that utilizes field recordings, mundane objects, detritus and naively played instruments to explore acoustic sounds inherent spiritual and aesthetic value outside of the confines of music Kevin Corcoran is a percussionist based in San Francisco, California. He is focused on techniques which extend the sonic range of the drum by emphasizing texture, friction, sympathetic vibration, sustained tones and the use of found objects, often augmenting these sounds with location recordings, amplification, and feedback. Working with musicians, dancers, writers, and visual artists, improvisation and collaboration are crucial aspects of his practice. Captainmcsweeney and Domi met in 2012 on tour with a punk Americana stomp band in a bus called Rosa. Based in Oakland, Ca, the duo reconnected in 2024 and began a collaboration unfolding through an ongoing dialogue between movement and sound, playing with the boundaries between inner and outer experience, musician and dancer, self and other, performer and audience, and all the variations between these dualities, while carefully holding sensuality as a way of returning to the body. Performance becomes a space of re-sensitization and a ritual of remembering aliveness and honoring presence. Fraufraulein, the SF duo of Billy Gomberg and Andy Guthrie, are master world builders. Their work is immersive - it wraps around you like a warm coat, guiding you into a deep trance-like state. Time moves in slow circles, folds in on itself, and unspools like caught fishing line. Their music reflects a truth that we all share in some way. It’s the pauses between thoughts, the little observations that color a day, the beauty of how others’ lives imbricate for brief moments before pulling apart.

pre-order now (Aloe-006) ’-1 outside / 24 inside‘ was recorded after the duo’s performance at Aloe on-site #20. The two tracks were captured separately: one evening in an underground pass-way, and another during daytime in a studio. Both locations are venues in Beijing that consistently hold experimental music concerts. Resonating with the album title on both metaphorical and geographical levels. With their playing, you can hear the touch of the musicians‘ hand, hear the variations between amplified and un-amplified objects, and how sounds change in different spaces. aloerecords.bandcamp.com/album/1-outside-24-inside
