Motec C127 dash for your 996/997 Cup or almost any car. This install was in a street driven 996 Cup Car. Having a working gas gauge is a good thing both on and off the racetrack. Customize the dash to suit your needs. Multiple pages with different displays. Color and so many other good things! If you can install a sensor you can display the output on this dash. Tire pressures, lap times, tire temperatures, your ADL2 dash is no match. Also available is a custom dash panel to mount the C127. Let us know what you think. Sorry for the less than perfect pictures.
Sometimes you get lucky. We took apart this gearbox for inspection not having any history about it. No idea who worked on it last or how many hours were on it. Normally this would result in finding many parts that need replacement. But this time someone got really lucky. Everything inside looks really good. Maybe it is that special oil we use...๐
Sunday Fun Day. This is a 2016 991.1 GT3 R that was raced by Pfaff Motorsports and won a Championship in World Challenge. Unfortunately, the car was crashed at Road America in the kink. And if you have ever been through the kink at 140mph you know there is no escape if something goes wrong. The car hit square in the front then recoiled and damaged the right rear. The chassis and much of the bodywork was destroyed but the suspension and many other parts were not damaged. Well, not all the parts survived, the engine case was broken. For me a broken engine is the easiest part to fix, but not cheap. The new chassis arrived and bolt by bolt, part by part the new chassis is being built. But it is not quite that easy because I want everything to look as new as possible - so every part with any sign of wear ( within reason) is being replaced or restored. This car will be for sale when it is finished and it will be 100% ready to race. #porschemotorsport #pfaffmotorsports #GT3#porsche911 #orbitracing
2014 991.1 GT3 with a seized engine. We have never had one of these engines apart because of the extended 10 year warranty Porsche had on these engines. In 2014 Porsche had to replace every engine due to faulty rod bolts. Are they there people seeing problems with these engines. It is fairly well documented that these end are suffering from valve train failures.
It is hard to call the cars you grew up with or the music you listened to "Classics". I still enjoy both, working on old cars and listening to old music, preferably at the same time. It is nice to leave the world of volumetric efficiency and traction control once in a while and go back to the days of carburetors and stick shifts. We get such a wide range of work in the shop that it never gets boring.
