The official inauguration of the East of Nile Monorail to the public: a milestone in Egypt’s transportation network.
The East of Nile Monorail connects East Cairo to the New Administrative Capital, spanning 56 km and featuring 22 stations and a depot. It forms part of Egypt’s 96 km monorail network, designed to transport up to 45,000 passengers per hour.
Orascom Construction continues to contribute to Egypt’s bold modernization strategy by advancing the nation’s public transport system and creating a mobility network with a lasting impact on millions of passengers.

Orasqualia, the JV between Orascom Construction and Aqualia, together with the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), have signed an agreement to implement a biogas power generation unit at the New Cairo Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Egypt.
Building on the facility operational since in 2013 as Egypt’s first PPP project, and part of Orascom Construction’s portfolio of concessions, this process converts wastewater-derived biogas into renewable energy, covering 60–70% of the facility’s electricity demand (≈36 MW/day or 13,140 MWh annually), while optimizing efficiency and reducing operating costs.
This initiative marks another step toward more efficient and sustainable wastewater infrastructure.

Orascom Construction signed a cooperation protocol with Ibrahim Badran Foundation to establish a permanent health clinic in Old Cairo, providing essential healthcare to underserved communities near our Greater Cairo Metro Line 4 Phase 1 project, currently under construction.
The clinic will be fully equipped and offer high quality access to services including Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, and ENT, alongside a pharmacy, serving thousands in the years ahead.
This initiative builds on earlier milestones, including school renovations near our project sites, such as the Zidan Sanad Public School upgrade in Port Said and Al-Shaheed Ahmed Mohamed Hamdi Shiboub Primary School in Alexandria, creating impact in communities where we work.

Silversands, Egypt’s North Coast: Entering Handover Phase at 20 Million Safe Manhours, Reflecting Orascom Construction’s Safety Discipline and Execution Excellence
Orascom Construction is the main contractor for Phase 1 of Silversands in Sidi Heneish, an integrated coastal development on Egypt’s North Coast by ORA Developers, with full turnkey execution.
This milestone reinforces our impactful role in Egypt’s North Coast through large-scale developments and key infrastructure projects.
Des Moines International Airport, Iowa, USA: Construction Progress Across All Phases
The Weitz Company, our U.S. subsidiary, continues to advance work at Des Moines International Airport as part of the multi-phase terminal expansion, which now includes the recently added Phase 1B East scope.
Phase 1A continues to progress steadily, with interior finishes advancing and key systems moving toward commissioning. The baggage handling system is also nearing completion.
Phase 1B West is well underway, with structural and interior works taking shape alongside ongoing MEP installations.
Phase 1B East, the newly awarded expansion, has commenced initial foundation works, marking an important early milestone.
This progress reflects strong momentum across the project, supporting the delivery of a modernized terminal that will enhance capacity and passenger experience.

Expanding access to specialized cardiac care across Africa: Construction Progressing on Magdi Yacoub Rwanda‑Egypt Heart Center in Kigali, Rwanda, East Africa.
Orascom Construction is advancing the MY Rwanda‑Egypt Heart Center in Kigali, East Africa, in partnership with the Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Foundation.
Skeleton work for the full complex is now complete, with facade works nearly finished and internal construction (MEP and fit-out) progressing. Phase 1 is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2027.
Once operational, the center will perform free procedures annually, benefiting underprivileged communities across Africa.
This project builds on our recent completion of construction at the Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Center, now in testing and commissioning, further expanding our regional healthcare impact.
ZED Towers Project Enters Handover Phase with Record Safety Performance
Orascom Construction announces that the ZED Towers project in Sheikh Zayed, Egypt, developed by @oradevelopers , has officially entered the handover phase, achieving a major safety milestone of 32 million man-hours without a single lost-time incident, reflecting Orascom Construction’s strong safety culture.
The project includes four residential towers with 601 units, featuring a three-level shared parking structure, a two-story podium, and 17 residential floors, with a total built-up area of 197,000 m². OC executed all construction, finishing, testing, and commissioning activities.
This milestone builds on a first-of-its-kind achievement in the Middle East: the installation of a 380-ton curved steel bridge, lifted 65 meters above ground using specialized hydraulic strand jacks.
