You never know if luck will be on your side, but good preparation can help with a lot of things.
Here are some insights into how I prepared myself for The Traka 360 👀
Let’s start with the body. It’s no rocket science that nutrition is a key factor for this race.
@226ers is there to fuel my dream. Starting weeks in advance to stay healthy and build form (K-weeks, vitamins, BCAAs). Then carb-loading with 800g of carbs over the last two days. And on race day, it will be 8500ml of hydration and 1270g of carbs for more or less 10.5 hours. On my body I will wear
@castelli newest gravel speed suit, with aero bladder and aero bib pockets. My head and eyes will be protected by
@smith_optics .
The
@colnagoworld G4-X is once again equipped with
@oquo.wheels , but this time with a special edition featuring carbon spokes for more stiffness, control, and speed! On those wheels, you’ll find the new 50mm Dubnitals from
@conti_bicycle . On top of that, my drivetrain got a golden upgrade by
@garbaruk_components with a 48T chainring in the front and a 10–52 cassette in the back on a Red XPLR 😮💨 To make sure my butt and lower back survive this challenge, I’ll be using the
@posedla.cc customised 3D-printed saddle. Muc-Off makes sure my chain is the smoothest with the Dark Energy wax and
@bbbcycling provided lights, sintered brake pads and co2 holders.
Mentally, it’s all about staying calm but focused — before and during the race. The last few days were busy, but I enjoyed them to the fullest. I’ll go into this event already feeling satisfied, and blessed to have the privilege of working with all these amazing people and brands. Extra shout out to
@castelli_sog to get my bike 100% ready and to make sure all feedzones are covered.
Tomorrow will decide what result comes out of it, but the journey towards my fourth Traka has already been a beautiful one.
