It was all rainbows earlier in the week for this Year 10 Canoe Expedition along the Shoalhaven River 🌈
Four groups set out on Monday morning for a 35km overnighter. Running rapids, calm waters and encountering all kinds of weather. Students expanded their skills in map reading and navigation, group management and the importance of gear and storage.
Around each bend was a new rainbow as we paddle through misty conditions for the two days! We look forward to being back in the Canoes again soon!

We're not just about ropes, water and adrenaline at Optimum! We also aim to foster the creativity of our students and bring them together with purposeful evening activities!
Paper Fasche is always a crowd pleaser on camp with so many creative costumes made by students and staff! All costumes walk the runway to a chosen song and choreography!

This is Domi! 🫰
We are so lucky to have her in the Opti family. Today we celebrate her being with us for four years!
Her gentle presence is felt on all programs as she works quietly to ensure the bellies of students and staff are filled with the most delicious, nutritious food.
It's hard to walk away from a conversation with Domi without feeling happier and calmer. She prompts us to ask questions in kinder ways, to understand each other a little more compassionately and notice the small things in others.
Domi cooking skills are unparalleled. She's the Queen of dietaries (makes the meanest Tofu Scramble!) and has the most angelic singing voice in the kitchen.
We love you Domi and are so grateful to work alongside you, thank you for the last four years!
