Big turnout at HQ yesterday for our latest camera workshops 🤝🎥
Really lovely seeing so many of the crew in one place - operators, trainees, assistants, familiar faces, new faces, office cat, Phillip the pheasant… a full house honestly.
Huge thank you to @opticalsupport & @jamesbutler_cine for leading the sessions and sharing so much knowledge across the day. From assisting Trinity operators, to our Access Schemes going over camera prep, travel logistics, large format workflows and some of our ops getting hands back on the rig - lots covered and such a good atmosphere throughout.

To celebrate we are offering 10% off all pre orders, this includes the options of purchasing just the wrap grip and handle (compatible with Tiffen M2 gimbals/Volts).
As expected, the gimbal is made to the highest precision and quality, as with all our products. Here’s a few highlights:

@bsc_expo 2026 is over already, and what an amazing show it was. A massive thank you to everyone that came down to see us and try out our gear. Hugely positive response to our gimbal, many commenting on the precision and quality, something we never compromise on. More information coming soon, along with order details.
The Magic Shot Box opened a lot of eyes to what could be provided from just one device; lens and camera meta data, camera control, and even exact camera positioning. Thanks to our built in IMU sensor.
Finally the OS360 Mono upgrade in combination with the DragonFly showed just how versatile the sled can be. Our latest joystick control provides a compact but still highly programmable 4 button preset ability, easy speed control slider and ergonomic thumb roll control.

The BSC Bert Easey Technical Achievement Award is presented by the Board of Governors to and individual or company who has contributed something outstanding in the way of endeavour or equipment.
Optical Support has, for over 25-years, been at the forefront of support for Camera Operators and Cinematographers. They have developed equipment ranging from the Jackal Rickshaw to the Dragonfly Steadicam Rig. There Steadicam course and support for Education have made them an invaluable support for many and the BSC proudly wishes to acknowledge them and thank them with this award.
