Two months from today, and almost 5 years to the day after releasing the Self Titled EP, Ophidian Memory will play its first live show. The last 5 years have been quite a journey for me as I grew this from nothing, and honestly never expected to do OM live mostly because I thought I was unable. But life has a crazy way of working itself out. Challenges were accepted, chances were taken, experience gained, and now the time has come to put all of it out there. I’m so grateful for @somedudejenkins @uriahled and Maxim, their hard work to learn these songs and make this project become real life instead of just something in my bedroom means a lot to me and I absolutely could not do it without them. Also huge thank you to @the_riffripper for setting up the show and giving us the opportunity to perform a full 40 minute set! His band @seedofsin_band will be on first, and @12gaugeautopsyia will close out the show with a crushing blow. Expect songs from every record as well as some new sick merch. My fourth full length album “Seraphim” is out now digitally on all streaming services. This record marks the beginning of a new era for Ophidian Memory and is truly my most ambitious release to date. It was made under different circumstances than my previous records, and for that it has its own unique personality that maintains the spirit of those records while blooming into something more volatile and ever changing. Certain moments give what I call “vibe whiplash”, but that is the essence of a multifaceted story from different perspectives. For detailed lore of each song, head to my Bandcamp and click on the track that you’re interested in learning about. Growth and change are an ever present theme on this album. To start, the artwork was created by the incredible @jonweber8 , who managed to fit so many aspects of the lore into one epic picture, I can hardly take my eyes off of it. Bren, The Pure One launches a vicious assault along the coast in a last ditch effort to thwart the machinations of Xathanas, The Burning One’s Dark Triumvirate. Complimenting it in the most mysterious and brutal ways are the new logo by @caelanstokkermansarts and the special font he made just for OM. I look at this cover and see intensity, intention, and mystery that is reflected well by the music. I’m eager to hear everyone’s thoughts. This record is different but it’s the most “Ophidian Memory” record yet. There is beauty, brutality, atmosphere, emotion, a complex story, riffs, and most importantly; the first feature in OM history by @ya_akov_ . It was an honor to have Jacob lay down some vocal tracks as I’ve been a fan of his for years, and his powerful performance adds a new layer to Cenotaph. 2026 will mark the first year I plan on not releasing anything for Ophidian Memory since its inception. The Luminary Sigil by @caelanstokkermansarts “Death is Life” The sun encompasses the divine mantra, pouring into a chalice that never overflows The Luminary is many things. It is firstly a religion, secondly a person, and thirdly an institution. In a religious sense, it is the mental and physical connection of personal Aether to the Aether of Existence. What makes up your body and soul is found in everything around you, and that to exist is to be in harmony with your surroundings. It is often practiced individually through prayer and reflection, and practiced communally in a service called Congregation, where members of The Luminary (institution) ritually catalyze the minds and souls of the participants, giving them a state of being they cannot achieve on their own. The institution of The Luminary, is a coalition of Clerics, Ritualists, Mystics, and Assassins that all work together to maintain dogma, by threat of The Kerberos. On the outside they are seen as religious servants, but their true purpose is once again a form of coercion and conformity. The Luminary as a person, also known as The Grand Luminary, is the one who holds The Collective Mind, which is essentially the consciousness of human experience in totality. They are seen to be the leader of both the institution and the religion itself, although in most cases the person known to be The Grand Luminary publicly is not the true Grand Luminary, as having the Collective Mind exposed is too great a threat to Existence. The Collective Mind was first created during the Cataclysm, where the high priests and scribes of Therionas melded their essence to preserve knowledge from the Ancients and their terror. In the aftermath, it was discovered and revered by nomadic shamans who nurtured it for centuries until it was ultimately co-opted by early Kerberos Loyalists whose authority transformed it into the shell it is currently. Many people in the higher levels of the institution know of the Kerberos corruption, yet sit idly by as Existence marches towards manufactured extinction.
