Opera Trio brought together stories of love triangles, intrigue, passion, and connection through some of opera’s most beautiful music — all brought to life by the incredible artistry of Mia-Lana Slier, Lilitha Nkuku, and Themba Mdlalose.
In collaboration with the Suidoosterfees, this production was a celebration of young talent, storytelling, movement, and music-making at its finest.
A heartfelt thank you to Michelle Hough for the beautiful choreography, Dr Lisa Engelbrecht for her musical guidance and accompaniment, and to every creative, technician, stagehand, and crew member who made this production possible behind the scenes.
And to our audiences, thank you for sharing these moments with us. Your support means everything 🤍
Until the next curtain call… ✨

One week later… and Orfeo ed Euridice still lingers 🤍✨
A story of love, loss, and longing that didn’t end when the curtain fell. It lives on in every note, every step, every breath we shared on that stage.
This production of Orfeo ed Euridice was made even more special through our collaboration with Suidoosterfees - a meeting of artistry, passion, and purpose that we will carry with us for a long time.
To our phenomenal cast, UCT Symphony Orchestra, and the incredible crew behind the scenes — the hands that built, lit, dressed, managed, and held this entire world together. Thank you. Your work is the heartbeat of everything we do, even when it isn’t always seen.
And to our audiences, thank you for witnessing, for feeling, for journeying with us.
We’re still not ready to let go… 🥀

A full house at our Season Launch 🤩
We loved singing for our Cape Town and international supporters, and look forward to another packed year of exciting growth and meaningful collaborations!
Three particular highlights of this year include:
🌟Orfeo ed Euridice at Artscape’s Suidoosterfees in partnership with Cape Ballet Africa, Abrahamse and Meyer Productions, and our very own UCT Symphony Orchestra.
🌟Wagner Celebration Concert with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra (yes Richard is returning, no we are not staging The Ring Cycle yet, but do watch this space...)
🌟Don Giovanni in collaboration with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden (we think Mozart would pay good money to hear our AMAZING baritones in the building).
Beyond the music, language, drama lectures, and all-things-opera-related training, come support our singers in concerts and competitions!
