Madama Butterfly was so special ✨Last week's performances moved audiences to tears, culminating in standing ovations for our extraordinary cast and creative team. On Friday, we were also honored to welcome Denver Mayor Mike Johnston and Councilman Darrell Watson to the performance with our Artistic Director & CEO Barbara Lynne Jamison. We love sharing the power of opera with those who champion the arts. Thank you to everyone who made it to see this spectacular production at The Ellie.

The Bear is a comical tale of a widow and her late husband's creditor who go from staunch enemies to unlikely lovers. Opera Colorado was honored to help welcome the DNC Site Selection Committee to Denver this week with a moment of joy. A few of our Resident Artists—Bridget, Jordan, Danny, and Oliver—brought opera to the Galleria with a special performance celebrating the creativity, vibrancy, and joy that make Denver unique. Following the performance, the artists had the opportunity to meet @denvermayor Mike Johnston and share more about Opera Colorado’s Artist in Residence program. We’re proud to be a part of the cultural fabric that makes Denver great! @mikejohnstonco@denverarts@downtowndenver

Madama Butterfly is an opera that you just won't forget. Tomorrow is opening night, and last night’s final rehearsal made it clear—this is not your average Butterfly. The sets and costumes transport you to the unique Rokumeikan period of Japan, while Puccini's irresistible music stays with you long after the performance. To top it all off, Japanese soprano Eri Nakamura takes your breath away as the heroine Cio-Cio-San. Tickets are sold out for Saturday and Sunday, and are still available for Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at the link in bio.
