ONRY// The Voice of Do You See Me?
MAY 15-17 + MAY 20-22
@mr_onry , Opera tenor, vocalist, and multidisciplinary artist Onry brings live vocals and original score elements to Do You See Me?, creating an immersive collaboration where music and movement unfold together in real time.
Known for his powerful presence as a tenor with Portland Opera and as Executive Director of Future Prairie—a multidisciplinary arts organization and queer artist collective—Onry brings a singular artistic voice that moves fluidly between opera, soul, activism, and storytelling. Through collaborative work spanning performance, film, and music, Future Prairie uplifts emerging and underrepresented voices while exploring identity, vulnerability, and human connection.
One of Franco Nieto and Onry’s earliest collaborations emerged through Future Prairie’s short film 1955, inspired by the legacy of Murder of Emmett Till and exploring Black identity, grief, healing, and self-expression through music, movement, and film.
That creative partnership—rooted in vulnerability, humanity, and emotionally rich storytelling—continues in Do You See Me?, where Onry performs live throughout the evening alongside choreography by Franco Nieto and the Open Space Company Artists.
