Tracking weather is a full time hobby, well it’s also critical to my job. @opensnow is the tool I use most to know when the storm hype is real or not. This last storm in the Sierra was absolutely nailed by the team at @opensnow leading to another incredible cycle of face shots and pow turns.

Ad. From Tahoe to Tromsø, there is one app that Niko and I both use to find windows, chase snow, evaluate safety and plan our days. Yes, there are plenty of free ways to check the weather, but with @opensnow you get both a mountain focused human interpretation of weather models plus their new AI driven PEAKS model which over the the past year of testing is 42% for more accurate for precipitation, 82% more accurate for temperature and 72% more accurate for wind prediction in specific-location based forecasts. Personally I love being able to check each regional model for so many variables like snow level, cloud cover and 12hr precip for anywhere on the map you choose. It’s pretty much what guided us through our trip in Norway and nailing 5 hour breaks in the weather. Thanks @opensnow !
