When my low back was sore before nogi this week, these are the exercises I typically default to. They help me get muscles warm & ready to go. Each exercises I do 15-20x 1 set through. Quick, easy & always preps me for training🤞🏼 🥋 @vanguardkimono

Protecting each other should be something we emphasize when we bump fists on the mats. Now it doesn't mean you can't train hard or make your training partners suffer at times (it's fun, I know), we just believe that are safer ways to do it. And we are aware that things happen, injuries will happen. We literally get taught how to manipulate the body. So we just control what we can control. A wise coach once told me, if you get your partner in compromising positions, pause & control, then check-in with them. Controlling these positions is just as valuable as using your athleticism when training. Injuring someone for the sake of winning training is not worth it. And if you be a good training partner, people will want to train with you🤞🏼 #dontbeanasshole I'm sure there are many other positions that can be tossed in with this topic, but these are the 3 that we see very often. (ALSO i meant to say "less internal rotation of the HIP vs external rotation") What would you add?🤔 🎥 @paulybjj #porradaresponsibly #openmatphysio

When I first became a PT, I never imagined myself running my own practice. I never imagined the ups & downs of learning how to take risks, how to create a top tier service, & how to sell/market those services (truthfully, still v awkward at times🥴) But one thing stayed consistent with what I imagined, which is helping those who trust us get back to jiu jitsu. Everyday we try to make our services better. Whether that's more intentional check in's, to post call recaps, to visual plans - we want to make sure our clients feel heard & supported while they go through their rehab journey. This post isn't meant to sell anything, but just to show you what we're proud of. The stories filled with overcoming obstacles & limiting beliefs. The moments of relief when they throw that gi or rashguard back on again. It's why we do what we do. It's no secret our medical system is broken, but we believe in giving people choices when it comes to taking their recovery/rehab journeys in their own hands. Just know that if you work with us, we will to give you the absolute best chance at stepping back on those mats again. That's a promise🤞🏼 Link in bio for more reviews (we're up to 90!!!!!!)

My left hip has always been a chronic problem spot when I push my body too hard. Last Friday, I got some hard night rounds in PLUS I was very active this weekend for Mother's Day so the post-training recovery stretch today was needed! 30 sec each stretch, 2 rounds through & 10 breaths at the end🫡 #porradaresponsibly #openmatphysio #jiujitsurehab

Commit short-term to achieve long-term mat health🤞🏼 Many of our clients mention they wish they started sooner. AND (NOT-SO)FUN FACT: The average jiu jitsu athlete spends 2-3 years off the mats due to injuries in their jiu jitsu lifetime🥲 #porradaresponsibly #openmatphysio #jiujitsurehab
