The Prom
Four self-obsessed Broadway stars are facing career-ending irrelevance when they discover a small-town high school in Indiana at the center of a national controversy. A lesbian student has been banned from bringing her girlfriend to the prom — and it’s exactly the kind of “cause” these performers believe will put them back in the spotlight.
What begins as a publicity stunt unexpectedly turns into a heartfelt fight for acceptance, authenticity, and love. Bursting with humor, high-energy dance numbers, and emotional depth, The PROM is a joyful, unapologetic celebration of being yourself — and standing up for others when it matters most.
With dazzling musical numbers and a message that resonates across generations, The PROM reminds us that everyone deserves their moment… and their prom.

THAT’S A WRAP!!!
Acting bridges the gap between story and spectator, providing audiences with emotional release, empathy, and intellectual engagement. It transports viewers into new worlds, challenges their perspectives, and fosters a sense of community, allowing them to experience profound truths, shared laughter, or catharsis that reflects the complexities of the human spirit.
Acting allows audience members to step into someone else’s life, experiencing different perspectives and emotions, which builds understanding.
Performances provide a safe space to explore intense emotions and relieve the pressures of daily life.
It demonstrates the resilience of the human spirit.
Production Stills from High School Musical Jr. This is an After School Enrichment Theatre Class with The American Dream Charter School @americandreamschool in partnership with Open Hydrant Theater Company @ The Point CDC. @openhydrant@thepointcdc
We are so grateful to The American Dream School who want to offer these life changing experiences with so many arts programs being erased in schools. Musical theater opportunities are scarce for black and brown children in low-income communities primarily due to systemic funding disparities and high costs of participation.
Underfunded schools often cut arts programs to focus on core subjects, while private theater classes are financially inaccessible.
The life changing power and magic once again soars as we partner to uplift the community through theatre.
