While attempting to look at a fuel pump assembly in a 2003 VRod, the feed fuel line plastic came away with the main pressure line damaging the $1500 obsolete unit, once looking at the assembly closely I made a decision to attempt to fix the unit and make it stronger than before as the plastic gets brittle over 20+ years .
Happy with the result and confident in its safety🤘

Most bikes look great until you start to realize how they were put together😂
Five speed box modified to suit a four speed frame, bike rode great, sounded great, and is only coming apart for cosmetic repairs and a make over , yet we found this issue while dismantling the bike.
The bearing was that tight on the output shaft that even the oxy didn’t help, forcing us to remove one ball bearing at a time to be able to seperate the inner primary, which as you can see in the video it was also modified to suit the frame.
I kinda dread the day I get fronted with something like this if the customer needs a stator 😳

Unfortunately there are so many items available for Harley Davidson motorcycles that look appealing but are not designed to actually do their required job.
Read the fine lines and don’t assume is all I can advise.
I make these videos so I can show my customers why not to do certain things, and then let them decide
Also a basic rule of thumb, the steel items that have rubber seals or belts on them tend to disform before the rubber item, later causing damage to the rubber item

If I didn’t see it with my own eyes I would have said “no chance that saddle bag could compress this huge shocker and not release itself while riding” but guess what, that’s all it was😳
Kinda find it hard to stomach that the rear of the bike can discord over such a dumb issue, “modern day metals🤷♂️”
I flipped the axle and added a couple of washers to help prevent it from happening again.
