Ópalo family ✨ We’re back at BRET on May 29 and we are so excited to welcome Kitty Amor for the very first time.
London-born DJ, producer, and label head, Kitty Amor has spent over a decade becoming one of the most vital forces in African electronic music. Her sound moves between deep house and Afro electronic, shaped by selections that hit with both precision and soul.
In 2023, she launched her own imprint Mahaba Music under Defected, releasing her debut solo record and deepening her vision of what this music can carry. She founded the residency nights Motherland and Sessions, establishing them as some of the UK’s most important spaces for African electronic culture.
In 2019, she became the first UK DJ from the Afro House scene to play Printworks, and closed that same year as the first female DJ to perform at Deep In The City, the Johannesburg night curated by Black Coffee and Themba.
In 2025, she debuted her first extended three-hour set at UNVRS in Ibiza, a milestone that speaks to where she is now. She has shared stages with Black Coffee, Maceo Plex, DJEFF, and Jimi Jules, and played Defected, Tomorrowland, Hi Ibiza, and Warehouse Project.
We have been dreaming of bringing her energy to our dance floor and May 29 is the moment. Together with
@soul_stice_ , our close friends from Italy, we will take over BRET for this special night.
