We are very honored that ’The Red Kiss‘ has been nominated for the 38th FILMFEST DRESDEN International Short Film Festival as its European premiere and has been selected for the International Competition, competing for the Golden Horseman and other awards. The festival will take place from April 14 to 19, 2026, and ’The Red Kiss‘ will have four screenings during the festival. We look forward to sharing it with the audience and other creators. The 38th FILMFEST DRESDEN presents 65 short films from 36 countries in its three competitions. From around 3,800 submissions, 34 films were selected for the International Competition, 24 for the National Competition and seven for the Central German Competition. The competition programmes combine world, German and European premieres and reflect current social issues such as work, loneliness, (queer) identity and migration.
FILMFEST DRESDEN was founded in 1989 before the imminent collapse of the GDR and reunification of Germany. The short film festival focuses on short film in all its facets, and has become one of the most important festivals of its kind throughout Germany. FILMFEST DRESDEN is also one of the best endowed short film festivals in Europe.
